Chapter 3, Maybe We Should've Learned To Swim...

As Betty was Drinking her tea, she had realised how quirky the mortuary was with all its different and stuff

ʼWhat's Riverdale like?ʼ Sabrina asked ʼWell it's similar to Greendale in a way, accept it's Halloween here every dayʼ Archie replied ʼI mean, your not wrongʼ Skylar said ʼIt does feel like Halloween here everyday if im going to be honestʼ he said

ʼWe've heard all about the tales of Greendale, of course there not real, like witches, werewolves, demonsʼ ʼThe tales are not real, but mysterious things have happened in this townʼ Ambrose said joining the conversation

ʼI would say the same thing about Riverdale, me and Sabrina went there last yearʼ gesturing to Sabrina ʼWe were looking around, and a deer all blooded up came on the roadʼ
ʼI will say we've had our fair share of experiences in Riverdaleʼ Jughead said

ʼHey loves your teacher is hereʼ ʼThank you for keeping them companyʼ The teacher said as he let the four into the car

The Spellmans waved to the car as it headed off to Riverdale

-The Next Day-

The four set out to go to quarry near the Greendale's edge as they would call it, it's a lake between Greendale and Riverdale, Archie got the truck and picked Veronica, Betty and Jughead up, they went down the road in the summer's breeze

ʼRemember we went here last yearʼ Archie said smiling as he was tapping his thumb on the wheel

ʼHow could all of us forget, you getting stuckʼ Jughead said laughing ʼI hateee youʼ Archie said laughing

They got to Greenedge Quarry, they got out of the truck and got swim suits on

They walked up to the side of the little cliff, backed up and dived into the lake, they laughed as they hit the water ʼkalabonga!ʼ Veronica screamed as she fell in

Skylar and Sabrina finally got off house arrest and went into the forest for a walk like they normally did, accept it felt like someone or something was following them

When they went past the Archway, where they had there dark baptism the altar looked the same, they hadn't been there in a while but... It was a feeling that made them shiver when they were around it

Right as they turned around ʼHelloʼ Billy and his gang were surrounding them ʼYou see ever since that game i don't thing the message got a across, You humiliated meʼ Sabrina and Skylar were thinking of using magic, but they couldn't

Everytime they moved to try and get out the group would push them back

Skylar barged through one of them, and they made a run for it, after a few minutes, they realised they were going the wrong direction, but instead heading for the quarry, with Billy's goons chasing them

Betty was at the top of the cliff when she realised Sabrina and Skylar were at the other side of the lake, they were at the edge of water, trying not to fall in

ʼOkay, okay guys calm downʼ Skylar said nervously ʼWe can talk this outʼ the gang of them just laughed ʼAfraid of water now, are we?ʼ one of them chuckled ʼYou bastards know we can't swimʼ Sabrina said fearfully ʼLet this be lessonsʼ the gang pushed them into the water

They both kept going under, coming up gulping for air, trying to stay above water

Skylar was trying to keep Sabrina up, but they were further away from the bank ʼYou assholes!ʼ Skylar shouted from the water ʼHave fun drowningʼ Billy said

He walked away with his gang

ʼHELP!ʼ They both shouted

ʼGuys, guys!ʼ Betty shouted, they all realised why Betty was shouting,

Skylar and Sabrina, didn't have enough strength to try and get up for air

The four swam over as fast as they possibly could, and dived into the water, Archie and Jughead got Skylar and brought him to land

While the girls were looking for Sabrina

ʼIs my sister alright!?ʼ he said in a panicked voice ʼDon't worry, we'll save herʼ Archie said seriously

Betty and Veronica were going in and out trying to see in the water, they saw a bit of red clothing and went to it, they pulled Sabrina up through the water, the three took a gasp of air, they brought Sabrina to the bank with her brother

ʼThat was attempt of murder!ʼ Betty said ʼThey pushed you in knowing you couldn't swimʼ Archie said nodding ʼThank you...ʼ The twins said shivering

Veronica went over to the other side, to get towels, and they put them around the twins when she got back

ʼThey just tried to kill you!ʼ Betty said in a distressed voice ʼYou guys have to go to the policeʼ Jughead said, the twins chuckled when he said that ʼThe sherif doesn't like the Spellmans, he won't help usʼ Skylar said ʼHe thinks were werid, because we've been around murder incidents by accidentʼ Sabrina said chattering her teeth

ʼYeah, our sherif is the same, doesn't like-ʼ ʼSerpents?ʼ Skylar chuckled ʼSherif Kelleher is a jokeʼ he continued

Jughead looked at him curiously ʼAre you a serpent?

ʼI triedʼ Skylar said dully ʼThey wouldn't let me joinʼ

ʼDo you guys need help getting homeʼ Veronica said ʼThat would be niceʼ Sabrina replied

While they were walking back Sabrina and Betty were walking behind all of them

ʼWhy do they have a grudge against you?ʼ Betty asked ʼOur parents died when we were born, we're twins, Billy holds it against us so we whenever we get the chance we get payback, but it backfired this timeʼ

Sabrina looked down at Betty's hands
ʼCrescent moons, i used to do that to myself toʼ Betty stared at her, Sabrina showed her, her hands, they had the same marks as Betty but more faded

ʼI used to do it to myself when i'd get angry or stressedʼ Sabrina said quietly

ʼSame here...ʼ Betty replied, Sabrina smiled at her ʼNo need to be ashamedʼ Betty smiled back ʼIt's Sabrina right?ʼ she just nodded

Betty was going to ask her something but Skylar interrupted ʼYou two chatterboxes back there, yeah you, keep an eye out for Billy's gang, they'll be wearing Raven jacketsʼ the two just nodded at him

When they got back to the mortuary, Zelda already looked angry, and they had no idea why

ʼA boy called in and said you tried to drown himʼ She said to the twins ʼDoes it look like we've been in water? We can't swim remember?ʼ He said sarcastically ʼMs Spellman we saved them from drowningʼ Archie said awkwardly

Zelda gestured for Skylar and Sabrina to go into the living room ʼThose two have been getting in trouble the day they were bornʼ she said annoyed ʼWhat happened exactly?ʼ Zelda asked curiously ʼWell... There's these guys who are being terrible to them, they were running from them and they had been chased near Greenedge, the boys pushed them in, and we saw them and took them to shoreʼ Veronica explained

ʼThank youʼ Zelda said gratefully, the four smiled and left the house and went back to quarry
