So if you guys have noticed, Minhee only coughs out carnations. But each carnation, each colour variation, has a meaning.

Red Carnations symbolize love, pride and admiration. Minhee only coughed red carnations early on because she was hopelessly in love with Jisung. She admired him. She didnt think about rejection too much.

Yellow Carnations symbolize disdain, rejection or disappointment. Minhee coughed yellow carnations every time a disappointing moment came. She was sad that Jisung and Suyong got together. She felt rejected and disappointed.

White Carnations  symbolize innocence and pure love. Minhee only coughed these out during her last days, because during her last days, she let him go. Pure love means giving, and she was willing to give up Jisung if it meant that he would be happy with Suyong. She would give up her happiness for him.
