Chapter 39 - Nightmares

Adam's POV

Finally, we were at Vidcon. Well it hasn't started yet of course. We have a few days to relax and hang out with our friends before we have to work our butts off. It was also the first time in a while that James and I would have some alone time. I wanna make the best of that.

"It's been fun here as always guys but I'm planning to take James out to dinner tonight as a fun surprise. It's been a while since we had a proper date." I said.

"Aww, that's so cute Adam." Jaiden said.

"It won't be cute for long. I bet you $20 bucks that they'll be in bed by 10." Maaz giggled. I glared Maaz who stopped laughing, but I could still hear small snickers.

"Oh come on Adam, we all know you were thinking about it." Tim said.

I felt my face heat up. "J-Just because I way doesn't mean shit!" Everyone started laughing as I let out a small breath.

James walked over to our group and stood next to me."Okay Adam I'm ready." he said. We said goodbye to our friends and left the house. We took an Uber and I gave them the address to the restaurant.

"Adam. That's not the address to our hotel." James whispered.

"I know, I'm taking you out for dinner tonight. After all, this is anniversary of when I proposed." James blushed and smiled. I took his hand and watches as our fingers locked and our wedding rings shimmered in the moonlight. It was the perfect night for a loving dinner with some alcohol on the side.

When we got to the restaurant we both sat down and waited for our waiter. We both order spaghetti to share. It was delicious. The best part of the restaurant had a bar. We both had a few drinks and got a little drunk.

We finally got to the hotel and looked around. "I guess it's bedtime." James said as he stumbled closer to bed. I grabbed his hand and felt my face dust with blush. "It doesn't have to be bed time." James' leaned in closer to me and we slowly melted into a few rough yet passionate kissed. I them pinned him down on to the mattress. I couldn't remember anything from there but all I know was that it was pleasurable.

James'POV

I heard my phone ringing. I turned around and observed the room. The lights were dimmed but still on. I couldn't feel anything from the waist down. A wave of pain hit my head. I slowly reached for my phone to pick up. I heard Adam let out a small moan as I moved away from him. His arm was still around me. I realized my mom was trying to call me.

"Helo....?" I said drunkenly into the phone.

"James. We can't get Ella to sleep. She was fine for a minute but then she had a nightmare. She's shaking and she won't go back to sleep." my mom explained.

My dad senses kicked in as I shook Adam awake. "Let us talk to her." I said, more awake then before.

"James why are you shaking me..." Adam groaned.

"Ella had a nightmare and I think it's a really bad one this time." Adam practically jumped out of bed, even though it was obvious he was tired and in pain.

"Dad...? Daddy....?" Ella asked through her soft sobs.

"It's okay Ella. We're here. What's wrong?" I asked.

"I...I had a nightmare. About you never coming back. You abandoning me. You still love me right....? You're not getting rid of me because of my horns right?"

Adam looked at me. He seemed to be deeply hurt by what she said. I mirrored this feeling. "Ella, don't you ever think we'll get rid of you. We love you so much." Adam said. Tears were streaming down his face.

"Ella you mean the world to us. We would judge you for the way you look. Don't forget those plushies we gave you. Hold on to them and we'll never be apart." I added. I felt tears I'm the corners of my eyes.

"Can you sing to me pwease?" she asked.

Adam and I sang her a lullaby through the phone until she was okay with falling asleep. We both sat in bed feeling aweful.

"Coming to Vidcon was a bad idea. One of us should of stayed with her." I said.

"James this was my fault. I shouldn't of token us drinking. We would of been more alert." Adam sighed.

"It's not you Adam. It's okay. Maybe this Vidcon should...be our last." I suggested. Adam agreed as we slowly tried to drift back to sleep.

On the last day of Vidcon Adam and James called Ella one more time. "Hi Dad, hi Daddy. How's Vidcon?" Ella asked.

"It was fun but, were going home now. We're probably not gonna do this again." James admitted.

"What?"

"We're not gonna do Vidcon anymore so we can be with you."

"No! You can't!" Ella cried. "You can't do that to your fans. They love the Jadam Power Hour."

James and Adam looked at each other confused. "What's that?"

"You know the panel you guys do together. When I watched that for the first time...it made me wanna grow up and be like you guys." Ella said.

The couple's hearts almost dropped. They didn't even know that Ella cared about Vidcon that much. "Please don't quit." she pleated.

James and Adam looked at each other again. Adam grinned, "What do you think Jameson?" James smiled back at Adam. "Vidcon Australia here we come!"
