Ashton- the one who desires himself

(Idek what that title means okay fuck it lol)

"School's starting up again."

I let out a groan as I nudged my foot into the side of Calum's body.

"Hush hush, don't remind me. Did you even start the English project?" I sat up on Cal's bed, giving him a look as he scoffed, still focused on his phone.

It was a lazy kind of day, Michael and Luke were at work, I didn't feel like being alone all day so I took the 1st bus in the morning and went to Calum's house. His mum and sister were home and his dad was off at work or something. So we were just chilling and resting in his room.

"Not even. I don't even think I looked at the assignment. I was planning on working on it like with you or one of the other boys. I dunno, when's it due again?"

I shrugged quick before reaching for the backpack I had brought, thinking maybe we could work on some homework or something. Highly unlikely, the way Calum and I 'work' is stay silent and do it for 15 minutes before throwing it aside and chatting the rest of the day away.

It was fine by me, I liked doing my work in the comfort of my couch at 3am with some food and maybe the buzz of the t.v as Michael watched some weird sitcom. Usually an American one too.

"I don't know, lemme check.." I mumbled, rummaging through my books for the assignment sheet. I pulled it out with a grin and handed it to him.

"So week after school starts again...Can I procrastinate for another week?" He asked, voice sounding like he's truly wondering. I laughed a bit.

"Sure, dude. I'm not starting it for a bit."

"But you're smart. Its okay if you procrastinate 'cuz you got it all up in that head of you." Calum mumbled, narrowing his eyes at me as I cackled a laugh out.

"I'm flattered but nah. I try?" We both laughed for a while, laying back onto the bed, legs swaying off the sides slightly. This kind of brings back memories of the times we used to just hang out when we were younger, Calum's mother coming in to yell at us for jumping up and down on the hardwood floors and how the people in the apartment under hated us.

Calum's house always felt like home. More like home than my old home. I remember how my old home felt, was far from pleasant.

"Hey, want to get something to eat real quick, Ash?" I looked up and nodded, swinging my legs over the side of the bed and walking to meet Calum at his bedroom door.

"Food? I'm always in." Not really, I was hungry but I really don't want to gain any weight..

~~~
"How was the day without your favourite person around?" I groaned, throwing my backpack aside as I locked the door behind me, glancing to Michael who lay on the couch.
"I dunno, since I dunno who my favourite person is." I shot back, laughing as I saw Michael's dejected face.
"I'm actually hurt like you could've played along and said something nice wow Ash.." I grinned widely and walked over to him, wrapping both my arms around his torso, pulling him into a tight hug. Michael groaned but still hugged my shoulders just as tight.
"Cal and I were extra bored. We did some work and ate and played around, that's all pretty much. How was your day, Mikey?" I felt his head nod against the crook of my neck and I couldn't help the large smile from gracing my face.
"That sounds super fun haha. I just did work, the usual. I feel like your sister is hating me more by the day."
"Really? I didn't think she hated you. Maybe she just finds you strange or annoying." I pulled back from the hug but we still stayed as close as possible. Michael gave a soft sigh and shrugged, taking my hand in his and playing with my fingers slightly.
