Mads text had given me the kick up the ass I needed to trek here and make sure I was here for Christmas Day with my family, with my baby girl Gorgeous Gracie.

I had prepared myself to watch Grayson and Mads being all loved up and happy but I didn't expect them to tell me they were having a baby the minute I walked in the door.

But I guess it was far better than Gracie telling me and catching me totally off guard. I appreciated them telling me in private but I couldn't help but wonder for one second whose baby it was.

The way Grayson said 'my baby' in such a possessive final tone made it clear he was confident it was his and the timing did add up.

Plus I didn't have that strong sense that I'd had when Mads was pregnant with Gracie.

I knew she was my baby before she was even born despite Mads protests.

But this time felt very different, that baby was my brothers, no doubt in my mind about that.

Although that thought came with a tinge of sadness that there was yet another sign of their absolute devotion and love for one another.

But they had moved on and I would move on in time too. It was just taking me some time to heal, fuck I sound like such a damn pussy but it was the truth.

I'd never been one to catch feelings but Mads had stolen my heart without me even noticing until it was far too late and there was no turning back. But now that was over and I had to think about seeking a new chapter in my life.

But now, now all I wanted to do was be with my daughter and my loved ones and just have fun.

"Can I see Gracie?" I asked feeling like I had intruded on them and I owed them permission before I saw her.

"You don't need to ask you idiot. She's eating breakfast" Mads laughed heartily and pointed towards the dining room.

"Mum will be happy to see you" Grayson gave me  a brotherly hug and patted my back as if to signal that all was okay between us now which was a relief.

"Oh yeh and my mum will be ready with a big kiss for you" Mads added knowing how much Rose loved me. I swear if she was a few years younger she'd be so hot I'd of been all over her!

"What can I say, the ladies love me" it felt so good to just laugh and be silly with them like old times.

"That's because your a man whore bro" Grayson's loud laugh booming through the hallway as we headed to the dining room. Grayson and I opened the doors at the same time and the room fell silent as all eyes fell upon us.

"Dada"Gracie cried out excitedly and nearly bounced from her chair to run over to me.

We met in the middle and I knelt down with open arms as she crashed into me and wrapped her little arms around my neck placing wet sloppy kisses all over my face.

"Hey gorgeous.. merry Christmas baby girl" I could cry at how much joy was flowing through my veins as I held her in my arms. Nothing else mattered in that moment but me and her. It was like coming home.

"Missed you dada" Gracie kissed my nose and I scrunched it up in mock disgust before doing it back to her then licking the tip of her nose to gross her out.

"I missed you so much Gracie" I told her against her nose as she wriggled in my arms, god I had missed her, so fucking much it hurt.

"Aghhh dada no gross" she squealed laughing and squirming at the same time.

"Momma is having a baby" she told me with wide blue eyes just like mine, her blonde wavy locks growing fast just like her mums.

"I know it's very exciting isn't it"

"Momma and me want a girl. No more boys" Gracie frowned clearly fed up with being surrounded by boys. I stifled a laugh behind my hand finding her just too darn adorable for her own good.

"What if it's a boy though?" I asked curiously

"It goes back" She stomped her feet and pouted angry at the mere thought.

This time I did laugh because my brother and Mads had trouble on their hands if the baby was a boy. Gracie clearly wasn't keen on the idea.

"Blame Mads for that idea" Grayson grumbled beside me face palming himself at the way Gracie was behaving.

"Like mother like daughter?" I stood up when Gracie ran off to finish her food.

"Oh Jesus we have huge trouble on our hands if that's the case" Grayson and I both gazed at Mads who was listening to our conversation and had her hands on her hips and pouting just like Gracie has done.

"Excuse me I'm right here you know? I can hear you both!" Mads snarled narrowing her eyes at us.

"Oh no they are right you were quite a hand full growing up and Gracie is no different" Elijah piped up having heard the entire thing. Mads looked at her dad with an open mouth in shock that he'd take our side which was priceless.

"Mads the look on your face right now is hilarious" Grayson belly laughed holding his ribs at the look of fury on Mads face. I couldn't help but join him and when Elijah laughed too I felt tears in my eyes it was too funny.

"I hate you all " Mads rolled her eyes and huffed before going back to fussing over the twins and Gracie.

This was just like old times. Just like the family used to be and god it felt good.

"I've missed you son" my mum wrapped her arms around me and kissed my cheek before settling beside me.

"Missed you too mum"

"Did you get me a Christmas present?" Max suddenly shouted from his seat waving to get our attention.

"Yes dada presents presents" Gracie chanted bouncing in her seat excitedly.

"Of course I did. I wouldn't turn up without presents!"

After breakfast we headed around the vast property to find the hundreds of presents that sat under trees in different rooms.

Before long the entire house seemed to be covered in wrapping paper, boxes and toys just laid all over the place.

But the energy in this place was nothing but joy and happiness and I knew I'd made the right decision to join my loved ones for Christmas.
