CHAPTER FIFTEEN: Betrayed Again

Tabitha goes badass in this chapter, just a warning.

WHEN ARTHUR TOLD THOMAS AND TABITHA THE PLANS, THE COUPLE AND POLLY IMMEDIATELY DRIVE BACK TO THE BETTING SHOP IN SMALL HEATH.

The entire tear ride was Tabitha crying and only allowing Polly to console her. Her daughter was kidnapped by the priest, a man Tabitha loathed and wanted dead. She wanted to kill him herself because he took the one most valuable thing from her and Thomas.

A couple minutes in the car, the three had gotten back to the betting shop. Polly walked with Tabitha, putting a hand on the crying woman shoulders as Thomas walked in ahead of them.

"I need Michael at the Maypole Junction," Thomas said, walking into the betting shop. "We need Moss to block all the roads south."

Polly helped Tabitha sit down and then took a seat beside her.

"Give me Moss," Thomas said into the phone. "What? Gone where?"

In annoyance, Thomas hung up and Tabitha rested her head on the Tabitha. The next second, out of anger, Thomas three the phone at the wall, making his wife jump.

"Tommy..." Polly said.

"It's them," Thomas said, beginning to pace around.

"Who?"

"It's fucking them."

"Look. It might just be dumb random woman. You know, sometimes women go mad..."

"No it's them," Thomas cut Polly off.

"Did you break the phone?" Polly asked, getting up and checking the phone.

Tabitha was sniffling, her head on her hands, not saying a word. Polly picked up the phone to see if it worked.

"You broke the phone," Polly said. "It's alright, we have another phone."

"Tommy, Tabby?" Ada called, walking into the shop.

"Ada?" Thomas said, walking over. Tabitha lifted her head again.

"There's someone outside. A priest."

Tabitha jumped up from the chair at that point and Polly rushed over to stop her. Thomas stopped his wife as well, seeing the desire to kill in her eyes.

"Pol, stay here with Tab," Thomas said, starting to walk outside. "Stay here. Don't do anything, and don't let her outside because she will kill him."

Thomas walked outside in the rain and Tabitha struggled to get away from Polly. She was sobbing again, sobbing for the baby taken from her by that damned priest.

"No, he has my child!" Tabitha sobbed as Finn walked in.

Polly and Ada sat Tabitha back down in the chair while Thomas was outside. Ada poured her sister in-law a drink, and Tabitha's sobs grew slowly quieter as she calmed down. Arthur came in, running Tabitha's shoulder and then walking away.

"Where's Linda?" Thomas asked Arthur.

"With Esme," Arthur answered.

"Esme's waters broke," John said, quickly walking in. "I was just with her. Running around fucking broke the waters."

"Where's Finn?" Thomas asked.

"Out with the young'uns looking for the Riley," Arthur said. "We couldn't reach him."

"I need to know who spoke. Our enemies know everything. Everything. I need to know who spoke about business outside the family. I need to know who spoke and who they spoke to. Now."
