Martha's POV
Arriving back at the territory I made my way to the supermarket seeing as it was going to be part of my explanation to Sean and John when they arrive at the house and find Scarlett gone I can blame leaving the house to get a few ingredients for tonight, which they wouldn't even realize since none of them cook but there will be a receipt as evidence.
Finishing off my shopping I make my way to the till, the person at the till is one of Scarlett's friends mums, "Good morning Monica. Could I get one bag please." I smile politely.
"Sure Martha. How have you been this morning?" She questioned back politely, scanning my shopping.
"It's been quite fine. Everyone left the house this morning leaving me at peace for once," I giggled to myself, "But I needed to think about what to make for dinner and when I went to look through the cupboards that's when I realized I didn't have all the ingredients; so here I am. How have you been?"
"It's been quite a slow morning, but I know later on when everyone is out if work it is going to be insanely busy so I'm just enjoying the peace," she laughed, causing me to laugh with her, "That would be £10.67"
I nodded and handed her a £20, "I hope you have a lovely rest of your day babe, we should arrange to meet up when we're not busy." I suggest as I hold my hand out for her to place the change in my hand.
"We should, it's been a while since we've been out for a coffee or dinner." I smile at her and walk out with a nod.
Making my way to the car I take a deep breath.
The drive to my house was quite short but it seemed to drag. I knew no one would be home until later since John and Sean have training with Jason and Rodger so they should be home by around 5:30 pm.
Once everything was put away and the house clean I checked the time to see it's 3:00 pm meaning Sean and Jason will be making their way to the school now, discovering Scarlett never staying at school.
At 4:30 pm I start on dinner. I decide to make Sean's favorite since I know he is going to be heartbroken when he finds out Scarlett has run away. I'm not sure how I am going to be able to pull a straight face when I see him and John later. I hope I can keep myself from breaking and telling them the truth about their little girl.
What I did may not be a normal mothers reaction but considering I know how much rejection hurts, I knew I had to save my daughter from all the hurt and tears by making her see her mate everyday.
5:30 pm came along. I had the table served and the food in the middle of the table, waiting for Sean and John to walk in through the door. I try to make myself as calm as possible so my emotions can react according to the situation.
Hearing the front door open I see Sean storm into the house "Where is Scarlett?" He stumbles the question out, I'm about to open my mouth to answer but he runs for the stairs, soon John is walking into the house, "What's happened John?" I demand, they could've spoken in the car on their way this way. John should suspect something is wrong when Sean is reacting the way he is.
"Where have you been Martha?" Was all he said, answering my question with another question. My eyes widened, could he know something?
"I've been at home and went to the supermarket. Are you going to tell what that question is all about?" I know I shouldn't act this way towards him, he hasn't done anything wrong but if I truly didn't know anything and he came home and assumed I knew something about my daughter this is how I would have reacted.
"Don't lie to me Martha. I know you know where she is. During the morning I needed to come home for something and I saw you drive out with Scarlett in the car with you. I can also smell another male all over you. Where is she." This time he vetted the question, but it was more of a statement.
