Hours felt like days as Y/n sat in the waiting room at the island's hospital. She fiddled with her fingers, anxiously waiting the news of her lover's state. Her phone buzzed, and she picked it up quickly, hoping it was one of Midas' agents.
She smiled and answered the call, "Hey, Skye."
"Hey, Y/n! How are you doing? Any news on Bossman?" Skye replied, her voice not as chirpy as usual, which was understandable.
"I'm alright... I just feel responsible. None of this would've happened if I hadn't joined that stupid mission from Chaos Agent," she sighed.
"Aww, don't say that, Y/n! You belong on Ghost, seriously. Whether you were apart of Shadow before or not doesnt matter to us! We don't love you any less."
Y/n couldn't help but smile at how sweet Skye was being. She felt bad for hurting her when she started dating Midas (even though her fear about losing Midas, a father to her, to another woman was valid; but ultimately unrealistic), so she was thankful Skye didn't resent her for it.
"Thank you, Skye. You're honestly an angel. If the roles were flipped, I would've been long killed sadly," Y/n sighed. "What are we going to do about the Agency? It's not exactly livable at the moment."
"You can stay with me at the Shark if you'd like! For now, we'll probably be with family or at our hideouts. But you're free to stay with any of us!" Skye replied. Y/n bit her lip, "I appreciate it, honestly. I'll consider it for sure. I'm hoping to talk to Midas first to talk about some things before I make any more plans, though."
"That's okay. Can you update me on him when you get the chance please? We're all pretty much left in the dark right now," Skye sighed. "Of course-"
Y/n stopped short when Remedy tapped on her shoulder, "Excuse me, Miss Y/n, right? Midas is awake and wants to speak with you."
"Oh, of course!" Y/n bit her lip and stood up, "Thanks, give me a second and I'll be right up. Skye, I'll call you back, okay? I'm going to go talk to Midas, he's awake now."
"Okay! Good luck, Y/n!" Skye replied, then ended the call. Y/n took a deep breath, and headed upstairs.
This could end one of two ways - Midas would totally forget what happened, and the two of them were okay. Or, Midas was about to break up with her.
Hopefully, not the latter.
She walked through the halls until she found room 211, and knocked on the door softly.
"Come in," Midas spoke softly from inside. Y/n felt her heart speed up as she opened the door, shutting it quietly behind her. She walked into the room and smiled sadly, "Hey, handsome. How are you holding up?" she asked, sitting beside him.
Midas shrugged softly, feeling a faint smile appear on his face as she sits down. "Were you waiting long?"
She nodded, "At least 5 hours, on and off. I don't mind it, though. You're worth it." she looked down and played with her fingers, Midas quickly picking up on her shyness.
He cleared his throat, "Listen. I want... to thank you, for earlier. I don't think I'd be alive if you hadn't come after me."
Y/n looked up, frowning, "What makes you think that?"
"I would've thought that, after what I did, you would've just... ran away. Not want anything to do with me. Yet for some reason, you came back. And you somehow aren't... gold," Midas sighed, looking down. "I'm sorry. I should never have done that. I just... lost control."
"No, you shouldn't've," Y/n giggled softly, making Midas smile faintly, "but it's okay. Oro was able to reverse the curse, thankfully. And of course I'd come back, Midas... I love you."
