A Hybrid's Life (Book 1 of The Wolves Territory)

Chapter Three

Fang woke up in the middle of the afternoon. He tried to escape his mother's paws but was too heavy for him. Then, his mother woke up and realized his son wanted to get out now. She put her paws away from Fang so he could get up.

"What do you want to do Fang?" Her mother asked him.

"Ummmm. I just want to play with Sierra. But I don't know where she lives though. But I will try to call out her name in the Snow Forest though. Can you come with me, mom?"

"Okay. But I will ask you dad if we can go."

"Okay, mom." Fang sat patiently near a corner in their sleeping cave. Luna shook Stripes's body with her paw making him wake up. He asked Luna why. Then, Luna explains everything to him. After that, Stripes said that he would come with them. Since he knew that there might be a danger.

They all stood up, walked outside their cave, and went down from the mountains. They walked their way towards the forest and was suddenly greeted by an owl.

"Hello, Stripes and Luna." He greeted them with a bow.

"Hello, Hoot. What do you need." Luna asked Hoot.

"Well, nothing really just a warning to you all and to Fang. The bisons have started to explore this place. Be careful when you encounter one. I just saw one right near the outskirts of the Snow Forest. Stay safe." Then Hoot flew towards the mountains to see if his family is okay.

"Thanks for the warning, Hoot." Stripes replied.

"No problem Stripes." Hoot waved his right-wing for Stripes to see his goodbye. Then Hoot disappeared in the fog and let Stripes and his family alone in the snow.

"Just great, the bison are really taking over the whole land. Why do they need to be like that." Luna said in frustration.

"Don't worry mom. One day, they will recognize what they just did to us." Fang smiled at his mom, making his mom smile.

"Your right Fang. But remember be aware of your surroundings."

"Yes, mom." Then, Luna picked him up with her mouth and started to pick up the pace so Fang could meet his playmate.

Minutes later, they arrived at the Snow Forest. Waiting for Fang's friend to come. They sat by a rock near a tree and waited. It might take a long since the bison thing but Fang is still hoping to play though with his friend.

And there she was. Not only she but they. Sierra brought her whole family too. I guess her family knows about the bison thing. They must have heard it from someone or if one of them noticed it. I hope they're okay..... Luna dropped Fang onto the ground and nudged him to go forward but he was a bit shy and went behind his mother. Then his mother started talking.

"Hello. Nice to meet you all. My name is Luna. I am the mother of Fang. And beside me is Stripes, my mate. And of course, behind me is Fang. He is a bit shy since he's not used to a crowd. But he is playful and obedient." His mother smiled at Sierra's family.

"Oh. He's so cute! And thank you for introducing yourself and your family. Anyways, my name is Alpine. And my mate's name is Blitz. And I'm pretty sure you know Sierra's name do you?" She said. Then they all started to laugh.

"Pretty much, since she was lost here in the forest last time." Stripes replied.

"Well you haven't met the youngest one, so I will introduce him to you." Then suddenly a little pup came out under Blitz's body. It was so little but it was already playful. It kept on running around and suddenly bumped on Fang's leg. It fell and saw Fang giggling. It smiled and stood up to play with Fang.

"Looks like Pine is having fun," Alpine said with a chuckle.

"Oh, nice name. Is it named after you?" Stripes asked her in curiosity.

"Well not really. We named it based on a tree. Since he likes pine trees so much that he always wanted to have a tiny one."

"Oh, that's cute." Stripes said and turned his head to the young ones. It turns out while they were talking they started to play some tag. From their point of view, it seems like Fang was the tagger.

"Catch me if you can!" Sierra shouted with a giggle.

"Okay then." Stripes replied and started chasing her real quick. Meanwhile, under a small pine tree, Pine was busy laughing at her sister. Her sister kept on being tagged and then she runs away and gets tagged and so on. The adults were busy talking about something important. It seems like they were talking about the bison though.

Pine though, continued to laugh and laugh and laugh until he suddenly rolled down a small hill. He rolled and rolled and rolled until he finally bumped hard to something. He quickly got up and was surprised to see what bumped him real hard. A full-grown bison was grazing in the grass and noticed Pine. It alarmed its herd who turned their gaze to Pine.

Pine screamed as he was getting chased by the whole bison herd.

"Help momma!" He cried. The bisons were right on his tail! Meanwhile back at the adult's Blitz and the others including Fang and Sierra, heard Pine scream.

"Oh no, my brother! I can't afford to lose one." Sierra said.

"What do we do?" Fang asked everyone.

"Stay here kids. Stay with Luna and Alpine. I and Stripes are going to save Pine." Blitz said and ran off towards the hill and saw Pine running towards him. Blitz quickly swooped Pine on his mouth and ran back at where everyone was. Stripes saw what was happening and quickly alarmed everyone.

"Quick! In the mountains!" He shouted. Luna carried Fang in her mouth and Alpine took Sierra. They all ran towards the mountains with the bisons right in their tails. Stripes were in the front and led them to where their cave was. They quickly ran and ran and ran until they successfully reached the cave of Fang's family. They sat down inside and were trying to catch their breath.

"Next time I guess. But we will never give up chasing you carnivores!" A big bison shouted at them and alarmed them to go back to the Shallow River to drink.

"This isn't good. Now they have entered this area, they're probably gonna shoo us carnivores away and take this land. We can't afford to leave this land!" Stripes said in frustration.

"True. But first, we must have some allies. I know some that might help us take down these bisons but still. We might be outnumbered by strength." Blitz replied.

"Yeah. We need to take them down by strength." Alpine pointed out.

"Everyone calm down. We can solve this later. But for now, we must rest so we can get our strength back." Luna popped in. Everyone agreed and were now trying to sleep. The kids though were shocked about it. Especially Fang and Sierra. They don't even know what to do right now.........
