office parties are always fun and this time it was Christmas. everyone was having a good time a little too much time for Jim. He was already drunk same as Meredith. Jim held onto y/n as he danced holding a red solo cup in his hand. y/n laughed as jim snickered from the drunkenness.
Pam looked miserable. seeing y/n with Jim hurt her. but she was happy for y/n. Pam thought they deserved Jim. He is a good guy. But deep down Pam was hoping since she called things off with Roy, Jim would come her way until he meant then....y/n.
Jim stumbled spilling his drink all over himself. "hey let's go to the washroom and get you cleaned up." Y/n says helping Jim up. "no. I want.....paammm." he slurred. "what?" they asked. "i love pam." Jim mumbles trying to get on his feet. Everyone had stopped dancing and stared at jim and y/n. "you don't love me....?" y/n asks heartbroken holding back tears. "I'm s-sorry. I love Pam." Jim stutters. a tear fell form y/n's face. Pam and them made eye contact. Pam looked dumbfounded, shocked and pitty. "you know what Jim, we're gonna talk about this." They says while dragging Jim to the womans bathroom.
"what the hell jim!?" Y/n whisper yelled. She poured jim some water and she drank it while sitting on the counter beside the sink. "y/n I love you. but I don't think I'll ever get over Pam." He manages to say. "you embarrassed me back there." they said as a tear rolled down y/n's cheek. Jim had some how gotten a little less drunk. "you are the best thing that had ever happened to me. okay, I just.... ugh it's just so hard to after so many years of having feelings for her that I still have some." Jim says. y/n felt so broken. they thought Jim liked them. "you know what!? fine you love her so much go. Go get her Jim! I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear it!" They yelled and stromed out of the washroom. "Y/n!" Jim called after them. Y/n stormed through the office and walked to Pam. "he's all yours." they says and Pam looks at her confused. Y/n grabbed her jacket and heard Pam and jim calling y/n's name but they ignored it.
tears escaped y/n's eyes as they drove home. jim truely loved y/n. he was drunk and was being dumb. he needed to make it up to them. to y/n it broke her heart and jim hated seeing them like that. y/n never slept that night they tossed and turned in their empty bed wishing it was all a dream.
-next day-
y/n didn't want to come into work today but had to it was her job. she sighed before opening the door to the building. "y/n!" Jim called before she could enter. y/n scoffed and turned to Jim. "can we talk?" he asks. "after work." they says. jim nods. jim and them walked into the building. y/n wasn't mad at Pam. she was jealous that Pam got all the attention that Jim gave her. y/n wanted that same attention. they got some, but not as much as Pam. They wanted to greet Pam but was too done with everything to do so. Pam felt horrible about the whole situation. she knew about Jim's liking towards her, no matter how much she wanted to be with Jim she never wanted to come between y/n and Jim. everyone in the office acted like it didn't even happen which was good.
y/n walked past reception with no response and headed to their desk. the day felt so long to y/n. y/n and Pam were very good friends and they needed to just have a hug form a supportive friend. They were pouring coffee in the break room when Pam entered. "hey y/n." she hesitantly says. they sighed and turned to Pam. "I'm really sorry for what happened." pam says looking down. they just hugged Pam. Pam hugged back a little shocked. they pulled apart. they sniffled and chuckling wiping a tear. "I'm sorry I really needed that." y/n says. "oh no no don't be sorry." Pam says. Y/n sent a friendly smile. that hug managed to get them through their day. After work Jim walked up to y/n.
after everyone had left jim and y/n were in the parking lot. "I'm so so sorry y/n. you don't deserve an idiot like me." Jim says. "don't say that." they say. "but it's true-" jim started. "It's not Jim." They say. "I don't know how I'm gonna make it up to you, and how long it's gonna take for you to forgive me, but I'll wait for you, I'll always wait for you. I was such a idiot the way I treated you at that party, I was drunk and I know that's not an excuse. Everything I said about Pam was true but I've gotten over her. I want you y/n. You complete me. and I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. I'm truely sorry y/n." jim says all at once. He loves them. y/n smiled and walked closer to Jim. "I forgive you, and I love you Jim Halpert." Y/n says. he smiles. "I love you y/n y/l/n." He says and cupped their cheeks and kissed them. They melted into the kiss. Catching their breathed they pull apart. y/n and him put their foreheads against each other and smile. Jim wraps his arn around them and walks to their own cars to go home.
The moment was a milestone. not all relationships are perfect. they all have their ups and downs. it wasn't the first down in their relationship, and it wasn't gonna be their last. It doesn't matter about the treasure at the end, it's about the journey. y/n and jim had a journey of their own yet to fulfill.
