not a word is said , the masked man quickly pulling a knife from his pocket before starting to approach the child .
❝ toshi . he doesn't like it when you struggle . ❞
toshi does not give a fuck .
he backs away , waiting for the right time to attempt to run . yet hiroshi's mask is just . . what was it for ? it was clear that the tiny dude was hiro . his identity was obvious . maybe the mask is why he's going insane ?
so he stops backing away , watching the male approach . but just as his arm is nearly grabbed . .
toshi strikes .
grab the boney antlers , grip them , and start pulling .
❝ STOP . he doesn't LIKE THIS . you're UPSETTING HIM , STOP . ❞ hiro sounds . . audibly distressed . but he can't focus on that , as hard as it is to listen to the most optimistic person on earth . to know he thought nobody loved him , so he'd given his life to some entity , now just . . killing and sacrificing because he didn't want to face a reality where he was hated . poor guy had just turned 21 .
the mask comes off , hitting the ground . for a moment , sheer silence , before the child glanced to his best friend . hiroshi looked terrified . hiroshi looked like he was going to cry . but he didn't .
❝ no , no , no , toshi . why did you do that . he doesn't like that . we're all going to burn . i didn't get all the sacrifices . ❞
then silence , before toshi hears a scarily familiar sound . a gun being cocked .
hiroshi had a fucking gun . that's all the kid knew before he dashed out , running surprisingly fast for his size .
however , hiroshi is very athletic , meaning it's not hard for him to chase . bullets fly through the air as he shoots repeatedly , hoping at LEAST one will kill the kid , or maybe just knock him down . but none do . toshi is sprinting , vision blurry with tears as he does so ; he just needs to leave . fuck , nobody is here . he's stranded on an island , alone , with a cult follower , he's—— . . there's a boat .
a tiny , shitty little boat . but it floats , and he gets in . he might die on the ride . but it's better than dying by your best friend's hands .
if he gets back , he knows for a fact that he's telling someone . if he doesn't survive ? . . he's not sure . did he ever have a good life ?
