I woke up in morning, it was nearly 4 o'clock. I was in the ward with other patients who were sleeping. I didn't understand why am I here, then I realized what happened yesterday night. Where is mama? I took out drip from my arm and headed to the room she was admitted. She was still sleeping. I rest my head beside her bed clutching her hand tightly.

After few minutes someone opened the door. It was doctor who treated me and my mother as well. My forearm didn't hurt now. His face was full of worries, then he saw me said" oh you are here, you must have called a nurse for taking out drips, your mother is fine, I checked while taking rounds and Dr. Hudson must be here soon,so don't worry."

"Thank you so much, I was so afraid last night and also taking care of me as well, thank you once again."I said with a smile on my face.

"I was on way to coffee shop in canteen, you want some? She is fine, you can accompany me if you want."
He said with fear in his voice as if I would refuse it immediately.

I stood taking a glance at mama, moved towards the door with him. I didn't even know his name. I wanted to thank him properly. "I didn't want to be burden on your work last night, first my wound and then me. Sorry for that. Coffee is on me doctor?"

"Chrish, Chrish Hudson"said while looke at me.

"Are you related to Dr. Andrew?"I asked immediately.

"Yes, a senior first then a father and by the way it's my duty to treat any wound no need of thanks for such a trivial thing miss?" he said while smirking.

"Natasha Baker"I said smiling

We sat we our coffee on the table, try to start a conversation. He was light hearted person but dutiful doctor. He wore that white apron most of the times but not now. His body was
perfectly build and smile made his eyes shine. I knew he must be tired but he looked cheerful fading away all my tension for this moment.

"You are all alone, where are other family members." He asked casually.

"My mother is my only family,  my father and  elder brother died in a car accident when I was 10."I said taking a deep breath.

"I m so sorry for your loss"he said firmly. It felt like he just tried to pacify me for my loss. It's all okay now. I learnt how to live without them.

We started drinking coffee without making any eye contact. I was so worried about my mama, I had nothing to talk to him. But I noticed his hairs were messy and hands were so white. His face was full of emotions, it felt like he wanted to say a lot but holding back due to our conditions.

Suddenly his pager went off, he said bye to me and ran away instantly. He was really caring doctor, his father must be proud of him. I started walking towards mama's room when my phone buzzed off. Gabby aunty was calling. I informed her that mama is fine, nothing to worry. She is sleeping right now.

When I reached Dr. Hudson was already there. He was checking vitals of her. He noticed me and said it's alright, these are symptoms of Alzheimer's. I needed to be more vigilante.

She was discharged the same day. She was fine for a week but after that the most dreadful time of my life came. She started forgetting us. She lost her cognitive power. She fell more quite. My duties increased more. I restlessly worked day and night to meet expenses. Everything felt grey around me. No happiness existed for me, I lost smile.

One night I was at home preparing her favourite chicken curry which I learnt from mama only. She was happy like a child, we were eating together. "What is your name young lady and why I am here with you?"she asked but her whole focus was on the dish.

I wanted to throw up, I needed some air, my eyes were watery. She forgot me too. "Mama, I m your daughter Nat"
She became angry and left the table.
It couldn't happen. I immediately called Dr. Hudson office, receptionist said he left for home but seeing my begging she forwarded my call to him. But now there was no turning back, I knew that this day would come but not so soon.

He talked to me, said you need to be courageous. Her disease is destroying her brain. He also as a doctor couldn't do anything except increasing the dose.

That day was heartbreaking for me. Now she was stranger for her Mama.
My little world fell apart leaving me helpless.
