Not an Update!!!!

Hello to all my readers, followers and fans of this story. This morning I received a message from one of you asking whether this book is going to be updated. I want to thank her and all of you who have reached out to check up on me. I am doing well during this time and I hope you are as well. I am going to copy my reply to her here as I believe all of you deserve to find out the reason for the delay in the updates. So here it is:

Hi love, I'm doing well during these challenging times. During the quarantine I've been working on an update but after the horrific killing of George Floyd and the resulting protests and discussions on race and the many injustices heaped upon black people for years, I found it difficult to continue to write this story considering its overarching theme of slavery. I don't want to feed into the romanticizing of such a horrible period in our history but I also do not want to abandon a book that I have written and has found a special place in the hearts of many

So l am taking this time to think about the chapters i had planned and how i can use those to highlight the injustices experienced but still give my readers what they wanted

I want this book to both expose the horrors of slavery but still highlight that even then there were allies, who did not support it as we see displayed in our marches and rallies today where both black and white march together for change. But to put your hearts at ease, I am working on updates and have not abandoned this story at all. Thanks for reaching out and I hope that you and yours are also safe and healthy during these challenging times.

I hope that you all can understand where I am coming from and I want you to know that I appreciate all your love and support. I would never have imagined that so many persons would take an interest in this story and its characters. Thank you all for the comments, likes and messages. Please continue to comment because reading them makes my day. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the characters or even myself (not too personal though lol) and I'd love to answer and chat with you.
