taehyung's POV

'Run, run, run', i keep repeating to myself.

blood and sweat kept dripping from my head.

"i don't think i can make it much farther."

"just make it above the hill"

i could hear the loud footsteps after me. the sound of police dogs barking—

i didn't look back, nor could i.

i couldn't see through the thick layer of mist in front of my eyes. it wasn't a need to worry as i am familiar with this place.

a little bit more i can make it to the cemetery, and run to the woods, so i won't be followed.

the idea made me feel relieved as if there is no need to worry.

i don't have to be stuck in a stuffy classroom or home having to be constantly abused at home by my parents.

i will soon be free.

i squinted my eyes to see the fog slowly disappear as i got closer to the cemetery.

i was out of breath and close to the verge of fainting.

i began feeling hot. the sound of ringing went crazy in my ears.

i couldn't hear the police sirens or the thundering miles away. my footsteps slowed down gradually but in my control.

my eyesight began to get blurry.

no not now i have to make it, i have to.

i slowed down trying to see, but before anything i fell on my knees on the wet cement below me.

i heard barking, yelling and police sirens.

and then there was silence...nothing but darkness—

...nothing but the ringing in my ear.

i was so close...
