The elevator doors hissed open revealing a hallway that leads towards what looked to be the infirmary and one of several training rooms. The infirmary was dark when we got inside, Rogers flipped on the light to reveal a top of the line medical center filled with technology nothing like the things they had used on me in Siberia. He walked over to a storage closet and grabbed a duffel bag of clothes for me. He threw it in my direction and I caught it with ease.

"I know people like you, you guys don't sleep that often, especially not when you're in a new place. So, instead of having you sit in boredom and because I didn't get a run this morning, I figured we could fight."

"Fight?"

"Yeah, just sparing or if you aren't sure you're up for that we can test your ability with weapons."

"Okay."

I found one of the bathrooms and opened the duffel bag, inside was a pair of SHIELD issued workout clothes. Black leggings similar to the ones I was wearing and a light grey athletic tank top were inside of the bag. My hair was still fashioned into neat braids so I decided to keep it that way. I walked back outside to where Steve was at the punching bags throwing swing after swing with near-perfect form. I walked around to the front of the bag to be sure not to startle him. He noticed me and stopped, catching the swinging bag.

"Want to start on the mat?" He asked, his tone of voice sounded like he wanted to start on the mat. Captain America probably doesn't face that many people who present a challenge, he was probably looking forward to this one. I agreed and took my stance on the opposite side of the mat. I was nervous but I didn't show it, I hadn't physically fought someone in a while, I was hoping that I could still stand my ground.

He gave me the first move, I threw solid punches toward his upright and gloved hands, I threw a few to his rib cage and move back up to his hands. He could tell I was holding back, I knew he was holding back too. He paused and took off his gear and instructed me to do the same. I was worried about having a negative reflex caused by fight or flight and injuring the famous Avenger.

He looked at my conflicted face, "Give me your all, fight like it's for your life, I'll do the same." I instantly attempted to catch him off guard by throwing a forceful kick to his ribs. He absorbed the blow and threw an uppercut toward my chin. My hand caught his fist however that was a mistake, he twisted me around so his arm was around my neck. I brought my foot to his ankle, loosening his arm long enough for me to slip out and roll underneath him. My foot went for the back of the knee except he moved quickly. My foot stomped to the mat before I felt myself get a punch to the back of my shoulder, I fell to the ground where I rolled to avoid his next move. I hopped up from the ground and caught the super soldier by surprise. I grabbed his legs and threw his body over my shoulder being sure to make the drop angle a safe one. His body hit the mat with a loud thud. I brought my foot to his neck, where he smiled and tapped my leg. I took my foot off and gave him my hand to help him up.

"That was impressive," he smiled as he stood and stretched out his back.

"Thanks," I smiled weakly, where I come from compliments are a rare delicacy. We went for three more rounds and ended with a tied outcome.

As I helped Rodgers up from the mat I heard a voice from what seemed to be the ceiling. I jumped back startled at the voice that filled the room, "Mr. Rogers your breakfast is ready,"

Aware of my startled reaction, Rodgers responded, "That's JARVIS, the A.I. he can answer any questions you have about pretty much anything. Let's get to breakfast, we can introduce you to the team," That didn't seem like an idea I wanted to be a part of, however, I owed this team my life. I might have to get used to the idea of sticking around.
