Annabeth's p.o.v.
"Percy put me down!" I scolded him while laughing so hard my lungs ache. My cheeks are drowsy from smiling so wide. I turned my head and looked over my shoulder. He is headed towards the lake. Fear gripped my stomach from all sides.
I didn't even realize Percy had set me down until my feet were connected to the blistering sand. I looked up into his eyes, which reflected the colors of the water we stood next to.
"Annabeth," he said, wrapping his scarred hands around my head. He says my name a thousand times, as if it were gold.
And then we were kissing. His soft lips against mine still activated those stimulating butterflies. My chest felt like it was caving in and my heart grew warm.
I laid my head on his shoulder. His arms wrapped around my waist. Looking into the sunset, I never wanted this moment to end.
Percy placed one last kiss onto my hairline. He took my frigid hands into his own warm ones. His eyes took on a mischievous look as he started pulling me onto the deck at out camp.
"Percy," I called after him.
He just wore that smile. That adorable, goofy smile that made me fall in love with him everyday.
Fearlessly, I ran after him. A smile crept across my face.
I felt as free as a bird when he swooped me up into his strong arms.
That moment was perfect. As it carried on, I fell deeper and deeper in love with him.
