Spring Break came to an end and Tristan and I sat in his truck sipping hot chocolate. He confessed to loving my egg sandwiches over break so I made him one this morning. He ate it as I sipped my hot coco that he had bought me.

"Why do you enjoy sitting in my truck and not your car?" He asked with a full mouth of food.

I shrugged, "I don't think you can fit in my car." He looked out the front window where my car was parked in front of his truck.

It was a small, white, Mitsubishi Lancer that most definitely could not fit my 6'7" boyfriend. He shrugged and finished off his sandwich.

School wasn't so bad. People got over the whole me and Josh situation. His family ended up plea bargaining and as a result, I had college paid for for the first year as well as a restraining order against Josh.

Life was good though. All of break, Tristan and I hung out mostly at my house or on long walks. He took me out to the movies to see Cinderella and the film was much more enjoyable with the middle arm rest placed behind us and me in Tristan's arms whilst feeding him m&m's the whole time.

"Did you like your sandwich?" I asked. Tristan lazily smiled and leaned over to peck me on the lips. The school bell soon rang and we were off hand-in-hand.

"What'd you get for number five?" Tristan peeked over my shoulder and I covered my math paper. He smiled and waited patiently. It was just a simple worksheet but I enjoyed teasing him.

"I got 0.5629."

"Thanks." He scribbled the answer down on his paper and I remembered how bad he was at math. His brother, David, was a genius when it came to math. Though he had a track scholarship, he was really going to school for accounting. And now, because he can't afford school at the moment, he's working as an accountant for a tire shop. The job description only required a high school diploma. He was very lucky to find something like that, especially being in the state he's in.

"What'd you get for number six?"

"Tristan, are you really trying the problems out before asking me for the answer and hope your work looks like the answer?" He gave me an innocent stare before sheepishly smiling. "Let me help you," I offered. I leaned over onto his desk and looked over his scribbling. "You need to work on your handwriting." He groaned. "I'll help you." He groaned again and for the rest of class I tutored him.

In English our teacher had us start on our personal novels. The book had to be about American values and a classic American story. I decided to read My Ántonia by Willa Cather. I love her books.

As I read the book, I listened to the common gossip that spread like wildfire in my English class.

"Hannah, are you going to Prom? It's this weekend." Sarah said.

"I know." Hannah moaned.

I promised her I would find her a date. I should keep to my promise.

At lunch I asked Tristan if there was anyone who would be willing to take Hannah to the Prom. Tristan looked around his table and his eyes fell on Sam.

"Sam," he began, "do you have a date to Prom?" Sam shook his head.

"What, want me to take your girl?" He chuckled and Tristan didn't find it funny in the slightest.

"No, dingle berry, I want you to take her friend, Hannah."

"Hannah who?"

"Hannah Davis," I answered. He looked at me then back to Tristan.

"Hannah Davis?" We both nodded. He looked around the lunch room then pointed to her. "Her?" He reassured. We both nodded again. "I don't know, she's not really my type."
