Welcome back to another Polaris judging. This was our first real round, which means someone will be getting eliminated. The following comments are meant to coach you, not offend you. The participants are also in no particular order. Without further ado, here were the entries for The Denominator:

@BrendaDaaeDestler Your cover was so cool at first glance. I love the faceclaim and I love the ideas that were added, but a lot of things were out of place. It looks like you forgot the earth element so you added tumblr leaves. That makes it look like you skimmed it through. The text also looks out of place, and the font doesn't really fit.

POETUNKNOWN1912 Your cover is very crowded, and isn't blending enough. I really like the face you chose, I just wish it weren't cut off by another image. There is way too much going on, and in places I can barely read the text. You met most of the requirements, but it looks far overdone. I also notice how you said 'by poetunknown'. When I read this it looks like you're the author of the book. But Tia Rose is the author, not you. I'd probably say 'graphics by...' or 'cover by...' to solve that.

nitrous_sparx This was one of the higher tier entries we received. It is blended well and the more I look at it the more I enjoy it. All four elements are creatively added here, and it matches the story. The faceclaim is a bit off, but overall your entry was clean, cohesive and magical. There isn't a boring thing to look at when I look at your entry.
