It's not all my fault that I found my refuge in the shadows,
It began with a simple lie, yes
From there it was touch and go to keep my facade on
Now each day feels like it's ridden with landmines and only a lie can diffuse them
My eyes are still mine but everything else has transformed
I even try to disarm myself every now and then by leaning more in the simple truths by speaking less
Do I have it in me to risk it all and step into the light and set off the mines
