Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Book 3: Gamma Gate of Shadows.

The Magma Depths- Part 3

Alpha charged into the room and sent out a wave of flames to force the Shadows in the area away. Marshadow flew over him and landed in front while Zax and Gizzit trailed behind them.

They were in a room surrounded by magma on either side. A stone path crowded with Shadow Pokémon lead up to the back of the room where a Pokémon stood.

The Pokémon had long fur and was a bulky quadruped. The beast had giant fangs and a mane billowed down its back.

Its fur was the color of soot and it had a purple glow around its body. The Pokémon seemed to give off an immense amount of heating further adding to the uncomfortable temperature of the room.

"Well look who it is. The pathetic Pokémon of this island!" The powerful Shadow shouted.

Marshadow crossed his arms. "I know you. You were one of Shadow Deoxys's generals. If I'm not mistaken Shadow Deoxys rewarded you with that Pokémon for your compliance in his schemes. Shadow Entei."

Zax counted how many Shadows were in the room. There were 30 not counting the Entei and each of them was possessing a Pokémon. This was not a fight they were likely to win.

Shadow Entei narrowed its eyes. "I am the Black Shadow. You should know that."

Alpha snorted and put a hand on his mouth to stop his laugher. "What's so funny?" The Black Shadow demanded. Zax drew a sharp breath.

"Sorry, sorry." Alpha regained his composure. "It's just that I think that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

A low growl escaped Shadow Entei. "Be thankful I don't incinerate you right now."

Alpha rolled his eyes. "I'm a fire type, what good will that do?"

The Shadow Entei slammed his foot onto the ground. "Shut up! It's clear you all are underestimating me, allow me to show you my strength!" The Black Shadow leaped into the air and threw a fireball at the ground of four.

Alpha jumped up to intercept the blow and tried hitting Shadow Entei with some fire. The fire made contact but had very little effect on the Shadow.

The Black Shadow landed and tried to bite Marshadow. Marshadow grabbed his Marshadium and vanished, reappearing behind the resister with a number of copies.

The Marshadow clones all slammed into Shadow Entei, exploding when they made contact. Marshadow dove in to punch it on the back.

Gizzit and Zax charged in and both struck the Black Shadow in the face. Shadow Entei roared and fire began to swell around him.

Zax, Marshadow, and Gizzit backed away only to be struck by a wave of psychic energy. The blow was extremely powerful and knocked them off their feet.

Alpha landed and swung his fist at the Black Shadow while it sparked with electricity. Alpha landed the move but Shadow Entei turned around and smacked Alpha across the face with one of its massive paws.

The Black Shadow picked up Marshadow in his mouth and walked back over to his rocky perch. "Pathetic!" He boomed.

Zax struggled to his feet but now the Shadows har closed around them. He saw Marshadow writhing in the Black Shadow's mouth but seemed unable to escape its hold.

"Now, I picked up a few things from the Spirit Master." The Black Shadow threw Marshadow onto the ground and placed a paw on his stomach. "With you here, Marshadow, I can finally get out of this Arceus infested realm."  Wait, what's he planning?

Zax and Gizzit looked at each other. "This is bad. How're we going to get through all these Shadows?" Gizzit asked Zax.

Zax poured his energy into his claws and felt them extend outward. "We fight. Just like we always have." Zax jammed his claws into one of the Shadow Pokémon and quickly pulled away to defend against an attacker.
