The night we met - lord HuronAURORA

I silently wake up, fear flooding my body when I wake up in an unfamiliar room.
I look down at my throbbing body, and recoil when I find that it's covered in bandages.
I remove a bandage on my leg, revealing a long line of black stitches.
I scrabble at the silken sheets that wrap around the bed in a panic.
Please, if this is some sort of torture I'm sorry-
And then everything comes crashing back down on me in an emotional tsunami.
This happened to me.
He cut me.
He hurt me.
I almost died.
I choke out a sob, but smother it a second later. My captor didn't like me talking, or making any noise at all.
He would hurt me if I made a sound.
Both the bruises and the habit stuck with me after that.
My breathing runs too loud in my ears, and blood pounds in my head, drowning out everything other little thought that crowds my mind, filling it with unwanted memories and images.
I dig my fingers into the silken sheets, wrinkling the white fabric.
Silent tears run down my face, and my breathing goes shallow and rapid.
The room spins and swirls and pops with colour as the panic deepens.
It's too much.
It's too loud.
Everything crumples I let out a scream, my hands tugging on my short hair.
I feel a burst of heat and the air turns greasy and charged as my right eye glows with cursed light.
I let out another gut-wrenching scream and the room around me tears apart with the sheer force of my mind.
My eye fades and I collapse back down on the bed.
The tears keep coming.
I'm a monster.
I deserved what happened to me.
Those are my last thoughts as I welcome the sweet bliss of unconsciousness.
~~~
I wake from my sleep, dried tears tracking my dirty face.
I survey the damage that I've caused to the plush room.
The bookshelf in the corner is cut up, metal digging into ornately carved wood.
There's a metal strewn all over the floor in huge, deadly shards.
A shard has pierced a light, and it's flickering in and out of existence in white light, casting deep shadows around the room.
Wordlessly, I sit up, peeling duvet covers off me.
I raise my arms, and my eye glows.
The thousands of metal shards lift up into the air, as if the gravity on the ship has failed.
Cautiously, I step onto the floor, shivering at the cold metals touch.
I start moving, taking a hesitant step forward.
I start to sing, ever quiet, in a shaking, fear-filled voice.
"I am not the only traveler who has not repaid his debt."
I keep looking to the messed up door in the corner, watching to see if my captor bursts in to hurt me for making this much noise.
"I've been searching for a trail to follow."
"Take me back to the night we met."I command the shards to move around me with a discarded thought and a flick of a bandadged; I along dance to a long-forgotten song.
"And then I can tell myself what the hell I'm supposed to do."
"And then I can tell myself not to ride along with you."I raise a leg, kicking it high. I spin and twirl and fall as the shards spin around me in a deadly dance of life.
"I had all and then most of you."
"Some and now none of you."
"Take me back to the night we met."
"And I don't know what to do when I'm haunted by the ghost of you."
"Oh, take me back to the night we met!"I command the metal to melt, shaping it into new, safe forms.
"When the night was full of terrors, and your eyes were filled with tears."
I remember my time in that cell.
"When you had not touched me yet."
"Oh, take me back to the night we met."My voice rises and swells, as clear and as bright as my eye as I gain more confidence that I'm free.
That I'm finally safe.
"I had all and then most of you."
"Some and now none of you."
"Take me back to the night we met."
"And I don't know what to do when I'm haunted by the ghost of you."
"Oh, take me back to the night we met!"I finish the song with a burst of light, and the metal fades and morphs into the scarred rooms walls, making it look whole once more.
My power may be used for destruction, but it can create beautiful, terrible things.
I take in the newly fixed room as the light fron my eye fades, casting everything in an eerie light.
I tilt my head to get a proper look at what I've made through pain.
The sliced bookshelf is scar free, and the hundreds of books that line it look good as new.
The walls are back to its complicated cris-crossed patterns and the floor is back to its painful metal grid.
I notice the two doors that lead off into other rooms.
I wonder where those lead...
I look back to the frosted glass door that's my ticket out of here.
I'm too exhausted to run to it though.
Instead, I look out the massive window lining one wall, looking into the starry void.
I vaguely recall a distant memory of Saedii and I exploring the Hadfeild together in that same void.
It feels like a century ago.
I'm so lost in thought I don't hear the sound of the frosted glass door hiss open.
I register heavy footsteps clanging on metal.
"Aurora?" A voice like melted chocolate and bad decisions says.
I whirl around, calling a crackling hand of electricity to my hand.
Is it him?
My captor?
My torturer?
"Aurora, please. It's me. It's Kal."
