Poem No. 1

Pay no mind
to the buzzing bees.

They grow the Earth,
plants, and trees.

Instead, hum me tune of
a bird on its wing

Like a woman in the way
her joyous voice will sing.

She will dance and sway
and raise her hands high

To the birds singing
and painting the sky.

Pay no mind
to my willowy tears.

They mimic my aspirations,
hopes, and fears.

I fear a bird will
never come my way,

Never sing for me,
so here I stay

Singing of birds on the wing,
a sorrowful tune

As I pray for a
dancing bird to sing to me soon.
