24.HE'LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN

6 DAYS BEFORE THE APOCALYPSE..... 

 A noise of the door creaking open and the thumping footsteps woke Soobin , who slowly opened his eyes , blinking several times to clear his blurred vision . Soobin stared at the white  stared  up at the ceiling , realising that he was in a hospital room .

" Uhm who took me here " Soobin mumbled in a drowsy tone , glancing at the white ceiling from his half lidded eyes and he tried to remember what happened earlier , not noticing the footsteps that walked towards him , stopping just in front of the younger's bed .

" Soobin how are you feeling " Soobin's  eyes popped up at the familiar mature deep voice , thought the younger was sure it was not of Yeonjun . The younger shifted his posture , groaning a little in pain as he sat up on his spot , his left arm aching terribly at the action.

Soobin's gaze fell on the male standing in front of his bed,shorter than him with a tanned skin tone and a mature face , wearing a white coat and steel rimmed glasses as he gently smiled at the younger  ," Uhm.... doctor Lee hyun  you?"

" Yes its been a long time , nice to see you once again Soobin " Lee Hyun said gleefully , grabbing a chair from the corner f the room as he sat next to Soobin's bed whose expressions were filled with ambiguity .

" Soobin , do you remember anything that happened "

Soobin quirked his eyebrows , his head aching slightly as the faded image of the incidents kept flashing in his mind but nothing was clear .

" Y-Yeah I think ,we were running away and then I was shot , then....." ,  " Soobin , don't strain your mind so much , if you don't  remember it's alright " Lee Hyun said,looking at the disoriented look on the younger's face who slowly nodded in return and kept silent .

"  Actually I was going to my centre when I saw you standing in the middle of the road , I was quite confused since it took me long to recognize you but then you passed out in the middle of the road  .....  and then I have to stop my car in front of you and take you to my hospital as you were shot by a rubber bullet " 

Soobin's eyes shot open at the information ,gaze quickly falling on his wound on the left arm which was covered by a gauze bandage , the swelling around the wound hinting the younger that it wasn't a minor injury .

" Soobin , why you were standing in the middle of the road , you should know that Seoul is not a safe place anymore " Soobin's body tensed up at the question, nervously gulping down as his mouth felt drying up , hands clenching the white sheets tightly . 

" I.... I"  Lee Hyun's eyes squinted as he heard the tentativeness in Soobin's voice.

 " Soobin please tell me , don't hesitate, I'll believe you "  Lee Hyun told Soobin softly who heaved a deep sigh , mustering up the courage to tell the doctor about the odd silhouettes he saw near on the other side of the road before he passed out .

"I think I saw Kai.... he-he was standing across the road  "  Soobin tentatively replied , his hesitant eyes glancing at he other who jaw slacked open in shock .

" B-But Kai is dead right , That guy , Yeonjun ,told me that Kai is dead "

Lee Hyun  said in a low tone , eyes glued to the younger's face who expressions turned sadistic , the sorrow and pain  reflecting from his dark brown eyes as the younger slowly nodded in response .

" So how could you see him -"

" I-I don't know , but I think I saw a silhouette on the other side of road , it was of Kai" Soobin remarked in distress , voice a bit shaky and strained as he felt a sudden pounding on one of the side of his head that he didn't bothered to tell the other .
