Wounds.

My mother always told me that wounds heal only when they're aired out.
Whether internal or external.
Covering them with bandaids or avoidance will only prolong the pain and increase the damage.
Leaving scars that remind one of what was lost and never to be recovered.
That's the thing about wounds, when the air hits, it stings.
It's painful.
And sometimes difficult to admire.
But that is the beauty that only heartbreak can offer.
A beauty in which one can grow flowers through the cracks.
So don't cover the wound.
Water the soil.
Feel it.
And all it's intensity.
Let it hurt.
Live in it as long as you can.
Because once it has scarred over, it becomes a mere memory of something that once made us who we were.
