The click, the noise that had alerted both you and Murphy. It filled you with nothing but hope. It gave you the strength to push yourself up from the bed. Your mind running as it caught up with your own thoughts, chasing as it tried to figure out what the noise meant. Murphy doing the same as you as he joined your side. Both of your eyes were stabled just outside of the bedroom to the Hallway. Whatever the noise had been, you knew one thing for certain : it was better than staying here.

You pull your gaze from the doorway and over to the boy by your side. "What was it?" You asked him. Murphy had no clue. But, just like you had thought, it must've been better than here. Whatever the small noise was, it was enough to remind both of you of the hope you had since lost.

He shrugged, body already leading the way out from the bedroom. It hadn't be until a robotic voice sounded through the bunker that your legs ran faster. "Containment door released." It spoke. The door, it was finally opened again. You were no longer trapped inside this place you had been convinced you would die in. You had been saved.

Murphy glanced back at your for a moment, almost in asking whether you heard the same thing or whether he really was going insane. But your expression told him you had heard it. This wasn't just a dream or his imagination, you really were going be able to leave this place.

Both of your feet slowed as you reach the front doors. And, for a moment, the two of you just stood there. What if it was somehow trick, you questioned yourself. What if the second Murphy's hands fell to the doors, nothing would happen? All of your hopes would have been nothing but lies that you had fallen pray to. But they weren't. Murphy didn't hardly even push them. Just the small force from his finger tips had been enough to finally let the doors open again. After 3 months, you were finally out. You were finally free.

It was bright. Almost as bright as when you had first landed on the Ground and taken your first steps from the Dropship, almost. The view reminded you of how boring the walls of the bunker had begun to you. Your mind almost begging to be able to tell your past self that you would be able to see a better view again. Granted, it had been covered by trees but that didn't matter. At least not in that moment. Because in that moment you could only feel the slow breeze you had long for.

Though, it had been cut short. You hadn't even been able to speak a word to Murphy before a buzzing sound fell above you. Both of your eyes followed the noise, meeting the small drone. No doubt the same one Jaha had left you for. The boy next to your looked down, eyes waiting for yours to meet his. This wasn't it, he thought. You weren't going to die. When you didn't reach his eyes, Murphy let his hand fall into yours to grab your attention.

No words had to be said between either one of you. The expression you shared was enough to tell another that it was over. That all the pain and darkness that had surrounded you in the Bunker was gone. And that you were finally free. Or, at least, so you had thought. It wouldn't be long until you would see the dangerous that you would yet again be faced with.
