Marlene's POV:
We reached Hogwarts. I stepped out of the train, smelling the cool, breezy, September air.
I smiled at Sirius and James.
"Sure feels great to be back, doesn't it?" Sirius asked me.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"I wish we could take the boats like we did in the first year," James pouted as he saw the horseless carriages being pulled towards us.
"And that's a spoilt brat talking, I'm just glad to be back at Hogwarts and out of the hell hole," Sirius complained.
"At least you have somewhere to go," I offered.
James looked at me with concern as he knew.
"I'd rather live on the streets," Sirius sighed wistfully.
"Really? Are your folks that horrible?" I asked.
Sirius nodded grimly.
I patted his shoulder as we took a carriage together.
"Where's Remus? And Peter?" I asked.
"Peter is, I don't know where, and Remus is in the Prefect carriage" James told me.
"How much is it annoying you that Evans is on that too?" I asked, smriking.
Sirius barked with laughter.
"Only a bit," James admitted.
Sirius smiled ahead.
"Still gives me a tingle every time I see it," Sirius said, smiling at the beautiful castle.
I looked at Sirius. He was a good friend, sure. But the way he stood up for me today with Snape, no one's ever done that for me.
I was going to tell him off myself but after the worst summer ever, and the insults I heard, Mudblood seemed nothing. I guess I was just getting immune to being treated badly. ..
But I had a whole new found of admiration for Sirius after today.
"So, how about that prank?" James asked.
"Oh, for sure!" Sirius told him.
"I'm getting cold feet," I admitted.
"Marlene, no!" James told me sternly.
"Yeah, I'll do it, I'll do it," I sighed.
We finally reached and right on the steps Snape was waiting for us with Professor Minerva McGonnogal.
His nose still looked bruised.
"Black! Potter! McKinnon!" She yelled.
"Oh, bloody hell," I muttered.
"It'll be fine," Sirius reassured me.
"What have you done to Snape?! Honestly, on the first day!" She yelled.
"Oh, you big drama queen, you could have gotten it fixed by now," James snapped at him.
"Or did you want to show Evans, and look brave," Sirius added.
Snape blushed to the roots of his greasy hair.
"At least she talks to me and doesn't think I'm an, oh, what is it? Yes, an arrogant toe rag" Snape hissed.
"Enough! What is it with you?" McGonnogal yelled.
"Detention, Black," She told him.
"You will be missing the feast," Snape hissed.
"But, the opening feast-" Sirius protested. He loved the start of the term feast.
"No, Black, your detention is tomorrow," Professor McGonnagal told him.
"Into the hall, all of you," McGonnagal ushered us into the hall.
I took my seat next to Sirius and across from James.
The sorting was already done.
"Tuck in," Dumbledore smiled merrily.
"I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THESE WORDS SINCE THE START OF SUMMER!" Sirius yelled, so loudly that the entire hall could hear him.
I laughed.
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore chuckled.
"So have I," I quietly agreed.
"MARLENE AGREES!" Sirius yelled again.
I blushed but I was laughing as well and everyone at the Gryffindor table joined in..
"Well, to everyone, tuck in, but to Mr.Black and Miss McKinnon, especially," Dumbledore smiled kindly at us.
He knew my situation so I guess he got it and he knew Sirius' condition and relationship with his parents as well. He may have been rich but he had his share of problems
"Guys, eat fast! We've got to do the prank!" Sirius told James and I.
I quickly put food on my plate and tried to finish my feast.
"Do you have a spell?" I asked.
Sirius nodded.

SIRIUS' POV.
When I caused that commotion at the Gryffindor table but well, actually, everyone heard me. The Slytheirns too. I looked at my cousins. To see their expressions. Especially Bella's. And well, it was nasty. She sneered at me. But this wasn't a dinner at my parent's house. This was Hogwarts. This was my HOME. Mine. And I could do whatever and say whatever.
I didn't give a rats arse what my family thought, least of all Bella.
I practically swalloed my dinner. I put my head down, so did Marlene and James.
"James, the cloak!" I said.
He gave it to me from his pocket and together, the three of us got as close to the Slytheirn table as we could.
"Goldacuo!" I whispered.
And it happened all together, all of their robes started turning red and gold.
We quickly tried to run back but there was no point. Everyone was going to know it was us.
We took off the cloak as we reached the proximity of the Gryffindor table.
We were laughing along with everyone in the Great Hall. Except Slytheirn, of course.
"IT'S THESE 3! IT'S THESE 3!" Snape yelled. Pointing at us.
"BLACK! MCKINNON! POTTER! DETENTION!" McGonnagal yelled.
"IT'S YOUR FIRST NIGHT BACK HERE AND THIS IS WHAT YOU PULL OFF! ENOUGH! YOUR FAMILIES WILL BE INFORMED! TWO WEEKS WORTH OF DETENTION!" McGonnagal yelled again.
James shrugged. So did I. Inform them, whatever, I didn't have to see them for a couple of months anyway. But Marlene, she suddenly looked panicked. She gulped.
"Will your parents be mad?" I asked her.
She just looked up at me and didn't really say anything.
How horrible could they be? I thought.
I looked at the Slytheirn table and noticed Bellatrix glaring daggers at us but, I mean sure they were directed to us and in our direction but, I couldn't help but feel as if she was glaring at Marlene in particular and the fact that she was so worried about her family getting informed.
What had I gotten her into?
