ALL HER LIFE, Elizabeth Cadence Grant had always had her way. Her father, Mortimer Grant, and his wife, Veronica Grant, née Laurent had raised her to make sure she gets what she wants. By the time she was of age and could start her schooling in her father's alma mater, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, she had accumulated enough confidence to profoundly amuse her professors as they unconsciously let her let them excuse her from class when she (supposedly) feels sick and let her submit homework she didn't (want to) do at a later date.
Lizzie, (nicknamed by her younger brother Edward, because apparently two year olds couldn't pronounce four syllables) undoubtedly, had her shit together. She breezed through her first four years in school with the highest marks (too bad, Lily Evans) with almost no stress at all. Now a prefect in her fifth year with her O.W.L.S. looming ahead and the prospect of her roommate becoming a Death Eater, the Ravenclaw faces her most stressful year yet—from sweetly befuddling her new Head of House and Charms professor, to fiercely guarding her position of top one student from an ambitious little red head.
So when a drunken James 'Toerag' Potter comes clambering up the Gryffindor table one breakfast morning professing his love to 'Lithy', she just rolls her eyes and stalks away, murmuring about the foolish behaviour of a certain boy, and how she will never, ever, associate herself with the likes of someone who gets drunk before eight o'clock on a Tuesday. But as her father likes to say, life is unpredictable. And soon enough, she finds herself spending more time with the idiot boy, and actually enjoying herself.
