Removal Notice - Removal from Wattpad

!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL !!

Some of you must've seen my announcement on my profile. And yes, it's true. I know I said I'll decide to take down "M For Maria" on 2nd September 2020 - and I also realise it's not yet even the middle of August. 

But when I heard about the security breach recently and an app ripping off some author's books and posting them in it set me thinking... 

And I made an impulsive decision. I want to take down my stories on here one-by-one, starting Monday, 10th August 2020. At first, I thought, 'I'm only posting rough drafts here, so why worry?', but then, I started getting scam DMs from another app offering me some pay for my novels. Now, that's not what riled me up, actually - not the pay. But the fact that I even got those DMs. It likely means, I'm being noticed on Wattpad. And while I feel honoured, I also realised something else: my books are likely to fall victim to the rip-off. 

Now - I don't know when this issue will be resolved... or even if it does, exactly when. I don't know if any other app will start doing it, too. I don't want my babies to become victims of such plagiarism. Free distribution with my name on it - sure. But a blatant rip-off? I won't have it. 

Combined with the fact that my trust in Wattpad has been diminishing steadily. 

I stayed on here only for my readers. I put their needs over my insecurities. 

And now, it's time to switch. 

First story down will be "M For Maria". It will be taken down after Sunday, 09 August 2020. Those of you are still reading or haven't got the chance to read it yet have the weekend to do so. After that, it will only be available on Amazon and Pothi.com. I shall make the announcement of the date later.
