How to make the hexagons?

The first thing you'll have to do will be to make a hexagon of the desired size out of cardstock. My friend and I used her Cricut machine to cut one that is approximately 19,7cm x 17cm (width x height).

Then, you have to find a roll of painters tape that isn't too large or too thin

Then, you have to find a roll of painters tape that isn't too large or too thin. We were able to find one at the dollar store that is 28mm large and it's perfect (plus it wasn't expensive!).

Once you have everything you need, the first step is applying a layer of primer paint and then a layer of paint on the whole surface. This will be your background layer. Since our color scheme is white and green, our background layer was white.

When everything is dry (please allow a few days to make sure it's completely dry), you can start applying the tape

When everything is dry (please allow a few days to make sure it's completely dry), you can start applying the tape. The first hexagon will be placed in the center of the wall. After making sure that it looks good and it's striaght, you can start applying the tape around the cardstock like in the picture (not mine since I forgot to take some during that process. I'll probably change it to one of mine when I do it on the wall). After the first one is done, you can start working your way around it by repeating the same process.

Once that long process is over, you can start painting inside the hexagons

Once that long process is over, you can start painting inside the hexagons. It is important to go from the tape to the center to avoid bleeding. We did 2 layers of green paint and it was perfect. You will want to remove the tape while the paint is still fresh and it has not yet dried.
