A greasy haired, Slytherin student entered the classroom. Severus Snape's eyes locked onto Lily Evans. A look of shock stretched across his face.

She wasn't sitting in her usual spot. Though it shouldn't matter to him. That wasn't his business.

Then he saw him. James Potter. Why on earth would Lily voluntarily sit with Potter. Well, they are Head boy and girl. But this didn't look like that. Severus couldn't help but feel bothered by it.

Lily's eyes met his. The smile on her face died quickly at the sight of him. Her expression changed into a slight grimace.

Lily broke the brief and awkward eye contact and turned back to face James. Severus watched as James noticed her uncomfortable expression.

James noticed Severus Snape staring at the two of them, and suddenly he understood her disgust.

James held her hand and kissed her forehead and whisper something into her ear that made her laugh.

Severus's eyes grew wide. He held his breath. He felt his heart break into several pieces. James Potter kissed Lily Evans on the forehead. Lily hated him. That obviously wasn't the case anymore. The boy who bullied him for years finally won her heart.

Severus quickly moved to his seat. He felt sick to his stomach. He couldn't bear to watch anymore. He knew all he needed to know.

This was the first class since Lily and James started dating. The two of them were practically inseparable.

Marlene and Alice sat at a table on Lily's side, and Remus and Sirius sat at a table on James's side. As the rest of the students entered the class and took their seats, Lily, Marlene, Alice, James, Sirius and Remus began unpacking their bags and grabbing their textbooks.

Professor Slughorn entered the room. He looked around at everyone. "Good morning everyone!" Slughorn began as he turned to Lily, Alice, Marlene, James, Remus and Sirius, "I see that there was have a slight change in seating today."

Severus scowled at Slughorn's remark while Alice and Marlene quietly giggled. They were two obviously different reactions.

"Mr. Potter, I hope you learn a thing or two from Ms. Evans while you sit here." chuckled Slughorn.

"Of course, sir." replied James with a smile.

"Well then. With that let's begin! Please turn to page 105 of your books. Today we will be brewing a rather difficult potion." said Slughorn.

Lily and James both glanced over the page. It definitely looked like a rather complicated potion.

"This potion is brewed to quickly heal wounds. This potion lasts forever. You could keep it in your pocket for months and it would work just as effectively as the day it was brewed. However, It must be brewed perfectly for it to work! Keep what you brew. But remember that it will only work it's made correctly! So let's not waste anymore time. You may begin!" said Slughorn.

Lily began brewing immediately. James watched as Lily opened the drawer and added 3 leaves of a mysterious plant to the water in the caldron.

"Lily what are you doing? There's nothing about leaves in the book!" James asked her in an extremely confused tone.

"Trust me. I know what i'm doing." Lily laughed. James watched as Lily stirred the leaves into the potion.

James looked back at the book. The book read 'stir in a circular motion until the potion begins to release pink steam.'

He looked back at Lily. She was not stirring in a circular motion. Instead she was stirring in a line. Back and forth and back and forth.

He looked around. Everyone else's potions seemed to be failing miserably. He turned back to Lily. His eyes grew wide as he watched the caldron emit the pink steam they were looking for.

"Woah. And I thought you were trying to sabotage my grade." James said in awe. He was amazed. She hadn't even followed half the actual instructions.

"Yeah, this book is absolute rubbish." Lily laughed.

"Well done Ms. Evans! Mr. Potter, I hope you're learning a lot." Slughorn told him as he walked by, smiling at the perfectly made potion on their desk.

"Loads!" James laughed while still in awe. This made Lily giggle. Slughorn handed James a glass vial to collect his and Lily's successful potion.

He filled the vial and closed it.

"Here you keep it." James told Lily as he handed her the potion, "I mean you're the one who brewed it." Lily smiled.

Everyone began to pack up their things. Lily and James began to walk.

"I heard it's going to be a full moon tonight?" Lily asked him.

   "It's a WHAT!?" James exclaimed.

"A full moon." said Lily. She looked up James. James looked shocked.

"I totally forgot." James said to himself. He seemed to be trapped in his own thoughts.

"James? Is everything ok?" Lily asked. She watched his eyes dart over to Remus and Sirius. The three of them looked nervous. As if all three of them had forgotten something important.

   "James?" Lily asked again.

"Oh. Sorry." James told her. He tried to wipe the shocked expression off his face.

"Prongs!" Sirius called. James looked over to him, "Come on!"

"I'm really sorry Lily. I'll catch up with you later." James apologized. The shocked expression still etched on his face. James kissed Lily on the cheek and followed Remus and Sirius out of the room.

Lily could barely hear the final words of the boys conversation before they left.

"Where's Wormtail?" James asked Sirius and Remus.

Lily laughed every time she heard those nicknames. Why they had them was a mystery to Lily. They were such random names too.

She began to think about what just happened. Whatever they had forgotten must have been important.
