           Oh my god, this boy

Where do I start? Um, I almost posted him as Adam as well, because I decided some of the boys share common princes due to characteristics, but in different ways

And here's my reason summed up in a short rant. First off, the whole point of the Beauty and The Beast story is that the beast is hard to love, either physically or emotionally. And oftentimes, the Beast refuses or doesn't believe in love. Usually, the Beast is placed under a spell for having a cold (pun intended) heart. Shoto, thanks to his ass of a father, has this and struggles with learning the basic understanding of love. Is he brash and has a monstrous attitude? No, but in the beginning of the series, he was by himself, preferring to do everything by and for himself, with little regard for his classmates. But, through "the magic of friendship!" (any old MLP fans?), he learns how to somewhat work as a team/pairing, take in others feelings or ideas, and even except the part of him that he hated most for years

As someone with experience of hating their bio. father, it can be a pretty cruel road to follow. But it's apart of life, and can even help you let go of some stuff when you realize what you something in common with them

Oh, and one more thing! Fun fact: in the original Greek myth that inspired the tale as old as time, the "Beast" was actually very kind and was a god, but hid in the shadows while protecting "Beauty" from Aphrodite so that "Beauty couldn't see him, leading her to think that he was a beast, and not a god

Ok, enough fangirling, back on track. I cast Shoto as Prince Derek from The Swan Princess

The movie is another 1994 cartoon movie loosely based on the famous ballet Swan Lake. The movie started out with an old and beloved king gaining a daughter, Odette, whom he loves very much. At her christening, a single pringle Queen and her son, Derek, come to it. They decide to meet up for a whole summer in hopes that their kids fall in love and join the two kingdoms. Then an evil warlock gets busted for trying to take over the kingdom, loses his power, and gets banished, and everyone pays attention to that fateful summer when they meet

But it doesn't go as planned when they grow up hating each other (Odette may or may not have full-on did a WWE jump move in the first part of the song), and it only gets worse as time goes on. I personally think it's one of those mutual crushes where it's expressed through shared spite and violence. I think this because it explains the final summer when they meet as adults and all of a sudden fall in love.

Then Derek announces to arrange a wedding, but Odette, like smart women, asks him why. When he says that she's beautiful, she asks what else. He's confused, a bit nervous, and racking his brain for something. And his answer?

"What else is there?"

Still waiting for the book Rodgers told him to write to come out. "How To Offend Women In Five Syllables Or Less". Can't wait for it, man

Broken-hearted, Odette and her father start the journey home while Derek gets scolded by his father figure, Rodgers (ultimate sassy and sarcastic head of staff), and his friend Bromely. That's where the book reference comes in. Again, can't wait, man. He comes to the conclusion that since he is obviously shit at expressing through words, he'll prove it through actions. But then a dying soldier from the king's army comes in, saying that the royal family has been attacked. Leaving the castle, Derek finds the carriage broke and the king near death. Before dying, he tells him that it was done by a great animal, which took Odette, and that it wasn't what it seems

Odette was taken by the warlock and placed under a curse. By day, she's a swan, but by night, human. Although, only if she's in the lake when the moonlight touches her wings

Derek spends the next few months looking for her, also training to fight the great animal when he meets it. Finally, after researching in the library, he comes across the idea that the animal can turn from a harmless creature to the one that took Odette. So, he takes Bromley with him into the woods to look for possible suspects. Odette, who finally figures out where the hell she is, flies into the woods to lead him back to the lake. He does and sees her transform just when he's about to shoot her with an arrow. And, HALLMARK MOMENT. They hug, they kiss, "oh, I missed you so!", all that jazz. After learning the basics of the spell he's under, he finds out he has to make a vow of everlasting love and prove it to the world. They agree to meet up at the ball his mother is hosting

He leaves, warlock shows up revealing that there's no moon on that planned night. Night of the ball, he locked Odette in a tower, as a swan, and disguised his old crone assistant as Odette. At the ball, a dramatic musical number has just ended. Derek has been looking for Odette all night just as there's a mysterious knock at the doors. It's fake Odette. While the two dance, swan chick escapes the castle and flies as fast as she can in hopes of stopping the vow. She goes but is too late when Derek vows to the wrong girl. Feeling herself dying, swan chick has the fly back to the castle. Warlock guy shows up, reveals his plan, and Derek rushes to the castle to reach Odette in time. He does just as she lands and switches back to human her human form before dying in his arms

Angry because he loves her I guess, he threatens the warlock, who reveals himself as the great animal. They fight, the fat-I mean great animal dies, Odette lives, and they get married

Now, reasoning. Shoto would be dense as fuck what to do if he fell in love. Like, look at him! Look at his character! His fucking backstory! Poor boi is clueless about what to do. Not only would he need help like Derek, but he'd also come to the same conclusion. Since he's not great with words, he'd show you through actions.

This may include helping you, purposefully pairing up with you for school and training, and overall watching your back to ensure your safety. Maybe a small gift here and there, but nothing major. As a crack headcanon, I nominate the idea that Shoto Todoroki willing to kill a great animal for you

You're welcome

But once he proves to you he loves you, he will never make you regret it and will love you to the ends of the earth. Any problems you have, he will work through them with you and help you. Project and hold, in sickness and in health, till death do I-(record scratches) Uhh, you get the picture. Unwavering and everlasting love here

He's obviously touch starved. Poor boy needs support as well, to help him work through his own shit

To credit the other two movies(cartoon ones, not the other pieces of shit), he might run into the problem of learning to let go of an argument. He's never been in a relationship or thought of it until you, so he always thinks he's right. But, he'd learn that it's a lesson well learned and apologizes for whatever shit he started. He might get a flower while he's at it because he's seen others doing it. He has no idea what he's doing, so he learns from others, ok? I hope you forgive him because he'd be really worried

Also, he'd fall into a habit of getting caught in hero training and responsibilities, as well as shit from his father. He'd accidentally start putting some of it before you, but not meaning to. But one way or another, he'd realize it, either you talk to him or he thinks about the last time you guys went out

Before I go, imagine him singing "because I love her". I'd fucking die happily
