ROME

Oh shit! When I saw her in McDo I already know I'm a dead meat. Her parents will surely learn about it. Kailangan ko siyang maihatid agad kung gusto ko pang mabuhay. Bakit kasi siya pumunta? Pupuntahan ko din naman siya king magsasabi siya. When I saw her cry, nadurog ang puso ko. Naawa tuloy ako. Tapos yung mga upperclass tinukso pa siya. Ayun tuloy. I saw her wearing her mini ring and her pendant. Kinikig ako. Ewan ko ba, pero ganun pala ang feeling hahaha.

Hindi ko yata maitago ang nararamdaman ko kasi bigla na lang siyang iiyak.

I let her in my quarters. Parang room lang ito. I saw her sit on my bed. Alangan namang magtago pa ako para magbihis. I removed my shirt and looked in my drawer for a clean one. I could see her avert her eyes from where I was changing. At leasr, pwede na ako maghubad ng shorts at magpalit ng pantalon at hindi siya nakatingin. Hehehe bata pa talaga. After I was done changing my clothes, I sat opposite her and put on my socks and my shoes. Dunang siya tumingin sa akin. After wearing my Sperry, I looked at her. She was looking at me too. Ang ganda ganda niya. I smiled at her and she smiled back. Nag blush. I stood up and took her hand para alis na kami. She stood up. At dahil bata pa din naman ako na gustong halikan ang girlfriend, I dipped my jead and kissed her. Kissed her talaga not smack or dampi lang. Kissed her. At first she was alanganin. Pero humalik din. Patay ka talaga Rome. Hinalikan mo na. I held her back of her head. She hugged me back. Rome Katipunan, tigilan mo na yan at kung ano na ang mangyayari sa inyo niyan. I stopped the kiss and looked at her. She's still closing her eyes. I hughed her again. We stayed that way for a couple of minutes more then we went out of my room. No one was there when we went out. Nag mess (kain) na siguro sila. We were not talking when I drove out of the camp. I took her hand and kissed it. She looked at me.

"I love.you."

"I love you too, Baby. Huwag ka maniwala sa iba. Sa akin ka lang maniniwala ha? Yung mga sinabi nilanhindi totoo yun. Ikaw lang ang mahal ko."

" Oo. Pano pala, Love kung paghiwalayin talaga tayo nina Mommy?"

"Dito.lang ako. Hihintayin kita. Ako kaya, mamahalin mo parin ako kahit hindi tayo magkita?"

" Oo. You're the only one. Ikaw lang Rome."

I looked at her at ako naman ang naiiyak. I parked the truck sa gilid ng highway. I pulled her to me.

"Alam mo, natatakot ako, baka ilayo ka nila sa akin. Hindi ko alam kung makakayanan ko, July. "

Tangina Rome bakit ka umiiyak?"

She pulled away from my embrqce and looked me in the eye. She wiped the tears that I wasn't able to stop from falling. She kissed me. And she hugged me again. I hugged her back.

"I love you. Kahit ano mangyari, ikaw lang nandito sa puso ko, Rome. Kahit ilayo nila ako. Babalik ako sa iyo."

" I love you too. I love you soooo soo much. I will look for you. Eto isipin mo, kahit itago ka nila sa akin, mahahanap at mahahanap kita."

" I will wait for you."

We were just there hugging and kissing and crying. Until we have calmed down. We talked about us. We talked about our dreams. When its the right time, I will ask her parents to marry her. I asked her to be my wife and she said she will. Pero alam ko bata pa siya. Mag iiba pa ang gusto niya. Baka next year nagsawa na siya sa akin. Baka may makilala na siyang iba. I did not tell her my fears kasi baka umiyak. I worry of what might happen to us after this. I know they will take her away from me. Sabrang bata pa niya para itago ko, para pakasalan ko, para itanan ko. But if I have that choice, I would. Itatago ko siya, ilalayo. Pero magtitiis ako para sa kanya. For her future. For what is best for her.
