Chapter Fourteen: Believe

A/N: Added a music video to explain Zero's feelings. It is recommended you listen to the song before reading this chapter - but you don't have to, it's just to emphasize Zero's emotions and his personal crisis in his head with his mental health. POV: Gadget

I slept soundly in bed, Zero didn't have any nightmares so far so I was alone to my thoughts. I thought about Zero's story, and how Shadow bullied him - not to mention committing high accounts of murder.

Should I tell Sonic what Shadow did?

I dunno...

I glanced at the sleeping jackal beside me.

He's been through hell all his life.

The least he deserves is peace.

No. Not death.

Just...peace.

Somewhere where he can be himself, somewhere he can rest.

He shuffled in his sleep, turning around in my direction before being still again, the sound of his soft breaths was all that was heard from him.

That scar looks nasty...

But those eyes hidden behind dark eyelids, those eyes are absolutely mesmerising...

Wait-what?

I shook my head.

Come on, Gadget, conceal those feelings, there's no way in Chaos he feels the same.

Let's just get back to sleep...

I exhaled softly and curled into the bedsheets before drifting into a comfortable darkness.
