Can't wait

Waking up alone felt different.

I know what you're thinking—He was only here one night, girl. Get over yourself.

But even that left its mark.

I had already gotten used to waking up to the feeling of his arms around me, his warmth, the way he'd mumble in his sleep before pulling me closer.

And now, he wasn't here.

The night before had been nothing out of the ordinary—chaotic, packed with students enjoying their last bit of freedom before drowning in books again. Routine.

Still, Mark had to ask about my "guy" before I left, reminding me once again that—even though it had only been a few hours—I already missed him.

Too lazy to get out of bed, I reached for the university guide, flipping through pages without really seeing anything.

I had to decide which classes to take this semester, figure out my schedule, and—most importantly—find at least one person to take them with.

Rose and I wouldn't have many classes together this time, which sucked.

She was more into linguistics, and I was focused on literature and teaching. We had always balanced each other out—her sending me funny notes during boring lectures, me handing over my neatly written notes when she slept through class.

I was definitely going to miss that.

Just as I started making a mental list of courses to take, my phone rang.

Rose walked in with two mugs of coffee, nudging me to move over as she sat beside me. "I knew you were awake."

"You know me too well." I smirked, digging through my bag for my phone.

"Did you have sex on this bed, or can I sit?" she teased, already knowing the answer.

I groaned. "Rose."

She laughed, grabbing the guide from my hands as I finally checked my phone.

Catherine.

I answered. "Good morning! I haven't heard from you in a while."

"Hey! I missed you. You've been busy, and I've been busy too..."

There was a playful tone to her voice.

"...Busy otherwise."

I knew that tone.

"Who told you Harry was here? And who have you been 'busy' with?" I asked, laughing but very curious.

Catherine giggled. "Let's just say a certain friend of yours told me... while I was busy with him."

My jaw dropped. "Leo?! You and Leo?"

"Yep."

"No. Tell me you didn't sleep with him already."

"No, stupid! We've just been hanging out. And it's great. He's great."

I blinked. "Are we talking about my Leo?"

"Yes, your Leo."

"The same Leo who told me he wasn't interested in you? That one?"
