Love or Revenge

Chapter 31

At first, Zoya cried under the duvet for some time for hurting Aditya with her words. Then, she cried for what Aditya said to her about leaving the house. She cried not for leaving the house before getting any Intel on Harshawardhan, but she cried for leaving him, for the man who occupied her heart fully in very short time.

Then it strike her that she has almost lost her goal because of Aditya. She lost focus on for what she came to that house. She realized that she has not done anything since she came here to exact her revenge. She has chickened out from Srivastav's plan too. Finally, she felt that all this happened for good. Now, she has to forget about Aditya and focus on what she has to do. She has to focus on getting information about Harshawardhan and she has to focus on her revenge.

She convinced herself that everything happened for her own good and its better for both of them. She knew Aditya is man of his words, so, he would not be bother her anymore and when she is done with Harshawardhan he'll hate her to the core. So, if he hates her now then it would be better for him to avoid the heart break that comes later.

Past midnight, Zoya got out of the bed. Aditya was sleeping on the couch peacefully. She knelt next to him keeping her distance as she didn't want to wake him up. "I'm sorry for hurting you, Aditya... I'm really sorry... But this way it's the best for you... I can't see you heart broken when you come to know about me... I'm sorry..." she whispered.

Then she went into closet changed her dress and while keeping that dress in it cover. She reminded of Aditya's reaction when he saw her in that dress and smiled to herself. "I can never forget how he looked at me and how I affected him. This will be with me as a reminder of you" she thought while placing it in the cupboard behind other dresses.

She went to the bathroom to freshen up. She washed her face as her face was messed up with tears. Then she got back to the bed with a determination to stay in the Hooda Mansion, just to get what she wanted and nothing more else.

Next morning, Zoya woke up to the empty couch. For a second, she was shocked and frantically searched for him in the bathroom then at closet. And then, she noticed that Aditya's laptop and his bag were missing from it's place. She felt relieved and heaved a sigh as she realized Aditya has left for office. Just then, it struck her that Aditya left early to avoid her after the last night fight.

Zoya freshened up and went to kitchen to get something to eat. She was starving since last night. She didn't have anything since last evening. Last night was eventful for her. She can never forget anything that happened.

Once grabbed something to eat and roamed in house aimlessly. As she reached study, she saw Arjun was sitting on the couch and he doesn't seem to be fine. "Arjun..." Zoya said. When he looked at Zoya, he hurried to her side and said, "Bhaabhi... I'm so sorry... I shouldn't have intruded in your personal life... I didn't mean to hurt you or Bhai... Please forgive me..."

"Actually... Arjun you have to forgive me... I shouldn't have reacted that way... I don't know what gotten into me last night... I went overboard... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have said those things to you or to Aditya... I know, what you tried to do is just a gesture of your love towards us to help us look beyond what we have now... But, I don't think so... Aditya and I are compatible as couple... I came to help Aditya but I don't see a future with him... Once his problem is solved... I have to see my way out... of this house... and his life..." Zoya said wryly.

"But... Bhaabhi", Arjun said but Zoya cuts him off. "I think it's better for both of us... Please, I don't want to talk about this again" she gulped the pain closing her eyes. Arjun nodded. But he stopped while she was about to leave "Bhaabhi..." Zoya turned to look at him and he asked, "Can I ask you for a favor, Bhaabhi?" Zoya nodded.
