Prompt:
Your main character has woken up to the smell of cold pancakes for the past few weeks. It seems as though someone breaks in each day to make the pancakes at unholy hours of the morning.

DAY 17 OF AKAASHI KEIJI WAKING UP TO THE SCENT OF COLD PANCAKES. Except today, they weren't cold. Akaashi had thought that his nose was deceiving him on this specific day due to the pancakes smelling fresh, as if they had just been taken out of the pan and transferred onto a plate instead usually smelling like they've been out for way too long.

The black haired boy shifted to the direction of his alarm clock which was seated across from his bed, displaying the current time in large red numbers. 6:21 A.M.

Why am I up so early? He thought, thoroughly rubbing both eyes and blinking twice to make sure that they weren't playing tricks on him. But indeed, it was almost 6:30 in the morning. He decided he'd better get a kick start to his day although the thought of being slothful and going back to sleep, only to miss out on half of the day for no reason did sound tempting.

"Alright Akaashi, upsie daisy," he said, trying to give himself motivation to get out of bed. In his mind, he was mentally prepared to get up, but his body was still seated at the edge of his bed. He was about to tell himself to get out of bed once more before he heard an ear piercing screech followed by a curse.

"Mom ...?" Akaashi called out inaudibly. No, it couldn't be. His mother always left for work at exactly 5 A.M. without fail, so there was no way she was still present in the house at this time. It doesn't hurt to check anyway, today could've been one of those seldom late days and she didn't want to wake him up.

Curiosity took over Akaashi and he finally decided to get up and stop playing guessing games with himself.

He traveled quietly down the stairs, concealing his presence while peering into the kitchen where the smell of pancakes grew stronger. However, the sight that was bestowed upon him was nothing that he had expected.

Right before his eyes was indeed pancakes on the kitchen counter, but also a pair of muscular legs that were not his mother's which were swinging aimlessly around in an attempt to be freed through the kitchen window that led to the backyard.
