today i had a day off since i had been working too much.after i told noah he could call me clara he takes every chance he can to call me by my name. after i told him about my parents i felt it was right to stop the act of not being friends so i decided to text him

it's clara you wrote a note a while ago

omg i thought you didn't get the note

yeah sorry i didn't know if i should've texted or whatever

that was the whole point of the note dumbass

i could tell he was laughing behind the phone i set my phone down and it starts to ring which pretty much terrified me i was afraid my parents would consider the noise too loud i picked it up and see that noah was calling i pick up
"hi noah"
"hi clara, i was wondering since you have a day off maybe you want to hang out and i know you'll say you can't leave meghan alone so my sister could watch her"
"wow you really went straight to the point"
"uh yeah" he laughs
"wait a minute you have a sister"
"yeah a twin actually her names chloe"
"cool i guess it would be fun"
"since it's your day off though you could stay home longer if you want"
"no it's totally fine"
"ok wanna meet in like 20 minutes" noah says
"sure see ya"
i hang up and get ready i also walk over to meghans room
"hey meghan you're going to make a friend today" she got excited and automatically started getting ready once she was done we walked downstairs i grabbed my keys
"hey what are you doing" my mom says
"going out to the park" i say
"ok i don't care how long you're gone just come back in one piece" she says
"ok bye love you" i say
"bye" i frown
"don't worry i love you" meghan says
i put her in her seat and i drive over to noahs
"hey you said we're going to the park" meghan says
"yeah if i told mom i made a friend that's a guy she'd never let us leave"
"true"
"ok remember noah he has a twin sister and she wants to meet you" i say
"she's just babysitting me you don't have to sugarcoat it" meghan says
"dang" i say smiling
i take meghan out and we walk over to noahs door i knock and a girl who looks like him opens the door
"i'm assuming you're clarissa"
"and you're chloe"
"the one and only" she says and i smile
"nice to meet you it's cool to finally know the girl noah talks about non stop" she says
"what-"
"hey clara" noah says walking up behind chloe
"hey" i say
"come here meghan you can follow chloe" noah says
meghan walks in with chloe and they head to what i'm assuming is chloes room
"wanna come in" noah says
"uh sure" i say
he walks in and i follow him upstairs we take a turn and walk into a room which i'm sure is his room i throw myself on the bed
"i see you're comfortable" he laughs
"so tell me about yourself" i say
"well i like roblox and gogo squeez i got stuck in a chair once i really like dogs"
"i- wait a you got stuck in a chair" i say starting to laugh
"um yeah long story" he says looking down smiling
"if we're gonna be friends i'll take all the stories" i say
"ok then" noah says
he tells me about every story he could think of which was starting from when he was 5 until now it went from school stories to crazy adventurous stories and i realized noah was cooler than i thought
"ok i've told you everything now it's your turn" he says and i tell him some stories about connor and some school things from when i had more friends
"we should totally hang out more often" noah says and i nod
it eventually got late and him and chloe were walking meghan and i out
"wait a minute you must me clarissa jackson" a lady who looked like his mom
"you can call me clara" i say and noah looks at me in shock
"it took me weeks to call you that" he says
"you know you didn't have to listen to me stupid" i say and his mom laughs
"i like her already"
noah gives her a look
"anyways clara i was wondering if you and this little one wanted to stay for dinner" his mom asks
"are you sure it wouldn't be too much" i ask
"no it's totally fine their dad is coming back soon so we'd eat in maybe half an hour" she says
"i mean sure why not thank you for the invite" i say
"anytime" she says smiling before i know it noah grabs my arm and runs upstairs
"i'm nervous" i say
"for what" he says
"dinner"
"why would you be nervous"
"nevermind" i say
"don't worry you have nothing to be nervous about" he says
we play roblox for a bit but for the rest of the 30 minutes we chill out.
eventually noahs mom calls us down
noah and chloe sit down in what seemed to be their spots and they had set up a baby chair for meghan.
i look at noah and he realizes what id been so worried about i haven't had a family dinner in almost a year now and i didn't know what to do he gestures me to sit down next to him
"hey don't worry it's ok" he whispers into my ear and squeezes my hand
their dad walks in and they all hug him
"oh who's this"
"my new friend" noah says
"hi i'm clarissa" i say shaking his hand
"nice to meet you clarissa" he says
we all sit down and start to eat it felt nice to have dinner and not worry about something being thrown at you.
"so how'd you meet noah" his dad asks
"um well i work at the diner and i accidentally spilled a milkshake on him" i say smiling
noahs moms face had a look of realization on it noah gave her a look and chloe looked confused honestly so did i.
once dinner was done i helped clean and noah walked us out
"today was fun" i say
"yeah it was" noah says
"thank you for everything"
"no problem clara, call or text when you get home okay?" he says
"yeah of course" i say walking out with meghans hand in mine
once we got home i texted noah and we talked for hours maybe making a friend was a good idea after all.
