POV Amara

Today I called my parents back home and told them I was getting married. They are now on their way to meet Aizawa. I stand up and go to the living room where Aizawa is on his phone. I sit next to him and say:

Me: I told my parents we're getting married. They're in their way to meet you

Aizawa: YOU WHAT?!

Me: You heard me, their flight is in a few hours they'll be here tomorrow morning

Aizawa: Why didn't you tell me earlier. I mean of course I have to meet your parents but like what if they don't like me. What if they don't think I'm good enough for you. What if they think I-

Me: Calm down, you're going to be okay. Breathe, they're not going to kill you. My parents are pretty chill, I told them about you and they already love you, I also showed them a picture of you

Aizawa: What should I wear? How should I do my hair? Do we speak the same language

Me: Well a suit and your hair in a bun will be great. Yes she speaks Japanese you'll understand her except she speaks French when she's mad but let's hope she doesn't get mad

Aizawa: Should I make some food?

Me: I'll cook and I'll wear traditional clothing, my mom loves it when I do.

Aizawa: Should I also wear traditional clothing?

Me: I mean if you want to. You could ask Elias he has a ton of suits with African prints on them.

Aizawa: Alright, euh...

Me: Don't think about anything to stress over. You're great she loves you, you'll be fine. Just smile and be yourself. Also buy her flowers, she loves roses, don't wear white, and when you meet her you have to kiss her hand. It something we do in our family when you meet elders

Aizawa: Noted, I'll go now. I love you kitty cat (if you know, you know 😉)

Me: I love you too

He takes his car keys and leaves. I stand up and go to my room, choose a dress and iron it. I hang it in my room and go to the kitchen.

I take all the cleaning products and start praying she doesn't find one place with any dirt or dust. My mom is a cleaning freak and if she finds one thing that isn't so clean that she sees her reflection on it, I'll hear about it even on her death bed. I start cleaning everything, the rooms, the living room, the rooftop, the windows, the basement, the doors, the TV, the mirror, the tables, the walls, the chandelier, the bathrooms, the balcony. I even clean the fruits in the basket. I lay down on the couch tired, I hear the front door open. I turn my head and see Aizawa with two suits in hand and a bouquets of flowers. He says excited:

Aizawa: So I got these two, I like them what do you think? I also got flower, I got 2 bouquets of roses one for you one for mom. You seem tired is everything okay?

Me: I cleaned the whole house, I am tired

Aizawa: You should've waited for me I would've helped

Me: No it's okay

I sit up and look at the suits:

I point at the second one:

Me: This one looks better on you, the color matches your skin tone

Aizawa: Thanks baby.

He puts the flowers in 2 vases and sits next to me:

Aizawa: This feels like a dream. I never though I would actually end up marrying you

Me: Say what?

Aizawa: No you got me all wrong. I mean I though that you were out of my league and that you would choose a better man to marry

Me: There's not better man to marry than you.

I lift his chin up, kissing him:

Me: I'm thinking about making you wear a mask for the weeding

Aizawa: That's odd, why?

Me: My cousins are snakes, they're going to try to flirt with you. They need to understand I ain't sharing. It would be a pity if I got into a fight in my weeding dress right?

Aizawa: You're so possessive he said chuckling

Me: Weren't you the one who attached a guy to the ceiling because he-

Aizawa: That's enough, you won, don't remind me of it

Me: I always win.

Aizawa: And I always lose

Me: Also when my mom greets someone she makes a random comment about your appearance. Don't take it personal, this is how African moms and aunties greet you in general.

Aizawa: What kind of comment?

Me: Usually she tells me things like « you've gained weight » or « you've lost weight » for you it might be something like « you're short, you're tall, you're skinny, you're fat » don't take it personal though. She might compliment you but it's rare, she never compliments any man that she meets.

Aizawa: I See

Me: Also give her the flowers at the airport, since we're picking them up, they'll sleep here this is why I cleaned the whole house. Don't give it to her with you left hand it's disrespectful, give it with both of your hands. When we'll be home they'll interrogate you, my dad might scare you but it's just a test.

Aizawa: Should I write it down?

Me: No need, also just be yourself. Relax they won't eat you

Aizawa: Alright, yeah I'll be okay.

He went to our room and came back later on, he laid nest to me and rested his head on my stomach.

Aizawa: Do you want kids?

Me: I mean yes I do, the question is am I ready to get my vagina ripped apart?

Aizawa: You don't have to if you don't want to. I'm not going to force you to do anything

Me: I know you wont, I just need some time before getting pregnant. Motherhood is a lifelong commitment and I need some time to prepare myself mentally to turn into a whale

Aizawa: I understand. How many kids do you want? Which sex?

Me: I want daughters at least 2 and maybe a boy. I want 3 kids, 4 max

Aizawa: Sounds like a plan to me. I'm sure your daughters will be as beautiful as you

Me: Aw baby, of course they'll be as beautiful as me

Aizawa: I can't wait to meet your parents

Me: I can't wait to meet yours. You never told me anything about your parents

Aizawa: About my parents...
