A Scaredy Mouse

I was shocked.

Wait!!! She had said I was cute.
She had said I had a great sense of humour.
Then why the hell did she say yes to him??????

Everybody in the canteen clapped for them and then continued with whatever they were doing.

That bastard Vincent was trying to sit on our table but went away with one death glare of mine saying,
"Hey baby, let's go on a date after school?"

"Yeah sure!!" said Karel.

We sat down on our chairs.

"Why the hell did you say yes???
You don't even know him properly!!!"

"Umm.. But he has been talking to me so sweetly since I joined school and it seemed like he was head over heels for me.
I was single too. So I thought, why shouldn't I give him a chance?"

"Oh.."
He was talking sweetly, so she means I was talking rudely and am torturing her since she has joined..... Wowww!!!

How can I explain to you Karel that, I know I can treat you better than he can.

The bell rang. I left for my class without saying anything or even looking at her.

Our classes ended and I left for home without meeting anybody.

I laid myself on bed and thought,
All these years school was boring.
But this year, a lot is going to happen and I am totally NOT going to love it.

Oh how opinions change with situations.

It was recess the next day and we five were sitting on a table together- I, Charlie, Tay, Karel and...
Vincent.

I wanted to sit beside Karel but the stealer of my girl did it.

I was fuming when I saw them holding hands.

What the . . . . hell (I don't want to waste even my precious swearing ability for this cheap guy)

"Baby I love you so much."

"I love you too babe." Karel responded.

Ugghh!! Yuck!!! I hate such baby love you things.
If you love someone show them with your acts not words.

Lunch arrived.
Both of them were feeding each other.

Why do people suddenly become little babies when they are in a relationship???
Feeding each other and calling each other baby and other disgusting names!!!

Charlie and Taylor couldn't help but laugh at me while I glared at both of them.

To stop their lovey-dovey, I initiated conversation.
"So Vincent, how many girlfriends have you had till now?"

He tensed up. I've heard he uses girls and throws them away.
I smirked. I won't let this happen to my Karel.

"Umm.. 20 I guess???"

"Wait!! You're 17 but you've had 3 more girlfriends than your age??? Seriously??"
I looked at Karel. Her expression was normal.
I tensed up now. She should have been surprised, realised he's a playboy and left him then and there.
But instead, she said,
"So what?? I've had approx. 25 boyfriends till now..."

My mouth opened and my lower jaw touched the floor.
What??????? 25????????
I didn't even have 1..girlfriend.

Charlie and Tay burst into laughter at my expression.

"What?? Isn't it normal??"
Karel asked a shocked me and laughing Taylor and Charlie.

"No it isn't. For us at least." Charlie said.

"Yes. We fall in love and make gf/bf. We don't make every other person our gf/bf." Taylor said.

"Yes. We believe in love. True love." I said.

"Wowww... That's cute." Karel said.
Vincent cringed.

I sighed. Karel knows nothing.

But she's the first girl for whom I had felt something.
I can't let her go.

I won't.

Just then, two guys came and sat at the adjacent table and started talking.

"Man!!! This dark haired girl next to us is such a slut. Just two days here and she's already with that playboy Vincent."

"Yeah dude. I mean, she is good looking I'll admit but what a poor choice of guys bro!!"

I reddened with anger.

They dared to call her a slut???
Now they won't be able to speak.

Just as I got ready to beat the shit out of those guys, Tay shouted,

"Shut up you ugly bulls!!"

"You shut up bitch!!"
One of them said. The other one turned towards Karel and said,
"Hey cutie, wanna join some cool people instead of bullshit ones??"

I expected her to say some cool comeback like Taylor always did.

But instead, she just ignored them and told us to do the same.
We did.

The guys started laughing.
"Somebody just got scared!!!"

"These guys have to be dealt with!!" I curled up my fists, red with anger.

"Yeah yeah!!!" Said Vincent in anger which seemed fake.

Then I thought of something, smirked, and said,
"Why don't you do it, Vincent?? After all, they insulted your girlfriend, the one whom you love, right??"

"W-what???m-me?? Ye-yeah... B-but..."

"Yeah yeah, go dear!!! Teach those nasty guys a lesson!!!"Karel said with enthusiasm.

He got up from his chair, looked at those guys, and fled towards the exit of the canteen.
Seriously!!! He freaking ran away!!!

It was hard not to laugh.
Karel was embarrassed so she ran after him.

Then I got up to have some talk with those guys.

But before I could do that, Taylor got up and went to those guys.

"Hey bitch!!" One of them said.

"Yup, sure I'm a bitch, but a loyal one." She said and punched that guy really hard on his nose.

Broken!!!

The other one got up but the sat down due to the strong blow he got from her.

"Don't dare say anything against my friends or anybody else.
Else I'll kick on such a place that you won't be able to use any girl like you do now... Bastards!!!"

She stormed off. I just looked at her going away, with appreciative eyes.

I'm glad she's my best friend.
At least she didn't sit silent like,
Karel.........

I wonder what she must have said to her so called boyfriend who was as scared as a mouse in front of a cat.

I laughed.

He ran away in such a speed like he was being chased by a dinosaur!!!!
