Chapter 56 - Divided We Fall

Ruby

The Thorned Petal launched forward with a furious yell at Weiss, blinded with anger as her eyes shone bright silver. Weiss rolled backwards, specifically avoiding her attacks as she backed up on the spot. Blake gasped as Yang blasted forward as well with her Cybernetic Fist pulled all the way back, her once blonde hair burning Sapphire Blue with plasma flames. Blake vanished away, using her Semblance to avoid Yang. Her yellow and black fist punctured through the wall, getting stuck as Yang pulled violently to get free.

Weiss and Blake looked at each other with fear as Ruby aimed Crescent Rose and fired it at Weiss over and over again with a scowl on her face. Weiss blocked and deflected the incoming bullets. She then thrusted her sword forwards, using her Glyphs and Wind Dust to keep Ruby back. "Enough of this, Ruby... it was an accident. We didn't know Raven was reaching for her sword, you have to believe us. We didn't want this." Weiss begged her as she held her hands up, and Ruby growled with fury in her eyes.

She did not seem like herself – and not in the obvious sense – it was like something had come over her, like something was in her mind. Because she was not saying a word, just pacing back and forth with hatred in her silver eyes. "Don't do this, Ruby... please... we're family."

"Stop saying that – you left all that behind when you joined Killian." Ruby growled ferociously. Weiss stared at her with disbelief, it was like Ruby had not even remembered everything they had told her. They had never seen her like this before, with so much anger in her heart.

"What the hell has happened to you? This isn't you, Ruby... you were always the one who believed in doing the right thing, when did that change?" Blake gasped as she backed up from her as Ruby approached them, dragging Crescent Rose into the ground.

"I don't know anymore. All I know, is that they were the ones who took my mom from me. Neither of you know what it is like to lose a mother – but you stole that justice from us." Ruby growled.

"So you wanna kill us? Do you seriously think that will make it right? Killing your best friends?" Weiss questioned.

"Only if you make me. Step aside, and never cross paths with us again, or I will be left with no other choice." Ruby told them, Weiss and Blake genuinely considered it for a few moments. But Ruby was on a warpath, and so was Yang. They could not let them leave this place, they had to be stopped before they end up killing more. The glare in their eyes was frighteningly similar to that of Jackdaw, they didn't expect them to start killing innocents – but then again – neither did Summer think that about Jackdaw Branwen.

They had to be stopped.

Weiss and Blake stood their ground.

"So this is how it ends? After everything we have been through? Four years? It ends like this?" Weiss questioned as she held Myrtenaster tight.

"You should have stepped aside." Ruby growled, and Yang ripped her cybernetic fist from the wall, and stood beside Ruby.

"We're done talking." Yang snarled, and Ruby nodded her head.

"Yeah... we are." She agreed, the two sisters sprinted at Weiss and Blake. Reluctantly they fought back, and Weiss blasted her Glyphs at the two of them and Yang dug her cybernetic hand down into the ground to slow herself down. Ruby forced through the gust of wind and suddenly slammed her Scythe against Weiss' chest, dragging her against the floor before she swung her around and launched Weiss into the wall. Cracks spread across it as Weiss' body impacted the wall. She scowled at Ruby as she sprinted forward and went for a second.

Weiss stopped Crescent Rose with Myrtenaster's blade, staring her former best friend down. "Fine... then I guess it is over." She decided, she twisted Crescent Rose around and proceeded to kick Ruby across the face with her heel. She staggered backwards before Weiss launched forward and she jabbed Myrtenaster into Ruby's chest over and over again with great speed. Weiss drove her sword down into the ground, blasting long spikes of ice towards Ruby, and they collided into her chest. Ruby flipped backwards, and she dug Crescent Rose down into the ground, anchoring it into the concrete. She twisted it around and threw herself towards Weiss. She kicked her in the face with both feet which caused her to stagger backwards.
