*one month later*
"You ready?" I ask Blaire.
"Totally." She replies with confidence. "Meeting your parents will be awesome."
I push the front door open and let Blaire inside. She peers around in awe, her eyes settling on the camera sitting on its tripod in the corner.
"I'm kind of fangirling about meeting your mom, I love her videos." Blaire says, her eyes dropping in embarrassment.
"Really?" I ask in amusement. "This is surreal."
"Couldn't have said it better." Blaire agrees.
I'm just sliding my arm around her waist as my parents come from the kitchen into the living room.
"Hi, you must be Blaire." Mom says in greeting. "I'm Sophie's mom, Grace."
"And I'm her dad, Chester." Dad chimes in.
"Nice to meet you both." Blaire replies with a smile, shaking both their hands.
I take Blaire to my room and we both sit on the bed, leaving the door wide open (as my parents warned me to do before she arrived).
"You're parents seem cool." Blaire remarks.
"I guess they are pretty cool." I reply with a chuckle.
"How did they react to you coming out?" She asks.
"They were both totally supportive. Two of my moms best friends are gay together, so she's very used to the concept." I answer. "How did your parents take it?"
"Not very well." Blaire replies. "My dad, well he told me to get a therapist. I left his house and went to my moms across town. She didn't not accept me, she was just very confused. But she's figuring it out, I guess."
"I'm so sorry." I whisper.
"It's fine." Blaire replies cheerily. "I have you and that's more than enough."
I smile as she leans in to kiss me. I kiss her softly, her lips brushing mine gently before locking into place.
