prologue

The clock just chimed signalling midnight but I can't seem to fall asleep. The cold sweeps through my thin blanket surrounding me like an embrace reminding me he's gone. The one who used to keep me warm. I close my eyes remembering when he would show me the affecting he now shows someone else. Without any warning I'm out like a light.

I hear a ringing from beside me and although my eyes are closed the vicious light still seems to want to wake me. I know the light won't leave and I have work to do so I open my eyes the smallest I could while still being able to see the time. 9:00 am. I decide to just get up.

I start my morning routine by brushing my teeth then getting my clothes on. I chose a shirt with nothing on it and ripped jeans. I check the time one more time to see 15 minutes have passed so I comb my hair and grab my keys to the car.
