Chapter 1: Eaden

Click. The door to my pod unlocks with just my fingerprint on the scanner. Man, this city
is amazing. So much technology in one small space. And so many different people. Humans
from all over the world moved up here to work, live and even raise a family. And with about 500
tourists coming and going on each of the 2 daily shuttle trips in and out of here, there are always
new people to see and meet. Those with families or couples can get apartments here but the rest
of us live in one of the 10 pod buildings. Most everything is communal excepts our pods. Long
enough to lay in, tall enough to sit up in, with a wall-mounted desk, a monitor and light, it’s nice
and homey.
Crawling into my pod I lay back and flip out the touch monitor above my head looking up
I activate the television function. The satilite function of Eaden makes it so most countries
bounce their television channels off Eaden. Because of that, those living on Eaden get access to
television channels from all over the world. I choose a European cooking show and as my
eyelids grow heavy I let myself drift off into the deep blackness of sleep.
