Call of the Old Ones

I found myself by the sea again,
With sand beneath my feet,

I found myself on the shore again,
Where two worlds are destined to meet,

I heard the call of the deep again,
And its promise to make me complete,

It dragged me out of my bed again,
To wander in the night,

I heard the whispering fish again,
Though they linger out of sight,

I stepped away from the sea again,
When fear held me tight,

It asked me to embrace the waves again,
But I don't know what it is,

It refused to tell me its name again,
And I know that something's amiss,

I run away from the shore again,
The whispers follow me home,

When next I go to the sea again,
I know it will swallow me home.
