The next morning Bella left the safety of her house and made her way towards the mayor's office. She knew that almost everyone was awake, yet she couldn't put this off. If Gale was requesting her she would have to go. The faster she got this done the faster she could get home. As soon as she walked through the town gate she could immediately feel the stares. Letting out an irritated sigh she reigned in her emotions and kept her expression uncaring. She could hear Sonia whispering excitedly to Django and it was easy  to see he was slightly horrified and ready to slap his hand over her mouth.
Deciding had finally had enough she stopped near the fountain and spoke loud enough that Sonia would hear her. "You know, gossiping about me when I'm right in front of you is rude right?" Sonia went silent at that before she turned and crossed her arms. "I was saying it's weird. Your twin seems so much more open while you." Bella let out a cold laugh. "While I'm the ice queen right?" She gave Sonia a glare that was colder then ice. "I'll say this once more. You don't know shit. Yes I'm a twin. Yes he's probably more on the open side. But I have my reasons as to why I'm the way I am. Now if you don't mind. Keep my brother and my name out of your mouth if all you're gonna do is shit talk hm?"
Sonia went to say something when Bella turned and left walking right into the Mayor's office. Django groaned as he rubbed his head. "Can you stop please? Try to get along with her damnit Sonia." Sonia shrugged before crossing her arms. "Why, she doesn't try with us." Alice shook her head having overheard most of the conversation. "Actually she does try. She may not openly show it, but Sonia she does care." Sonia went to say something but Alice had shrugged and looked at Jack. "Come on you have to get to school." And with that the siblings left while Django went inside the round table. Leaving Sonia completely alone.
Bella cracked her neck as she leaned against the wall while she waited for Gale to finish his paperwork. Which didn't take long. Putting down his pen he finally looked at her. "Hello Bella how are you today?" Bella shrugged as she kept her gaze trained on the man. "I'm fine Gale." He nodded. "That's good, how was Cedric's first night in Portia?" "It was fine, we're gonna start his house today." Gale sighed as he rubbed his head. "I actually have a job for you." Now Bella was curious as she raised an eyebrow and looked at him. "Oh?" He nodded as he kept his expression calm.
"Yes, a monster out in the Peripheries has been spotted. I know I should send the Civil Corps but." Bella shrugged. "They don't know what to look for. I'm a tracker so I do." Gale was silent for a moment before he looked at her. Worry evident in his eyes. "I know you're strong. Stronger then you let on. But Bella if it's to much even for you, abandon the mission and head back do you understand me?" Bella shrugged. "Yeah, I understand. But I'll do my best to get rid of it." Gale sighed as he watched her. "I don't know you, much about you anyway. But you're a Portian. I don't care where you came from. Your past doesn't define you. Now go, prepare and be safe."
Bella nodded and turned on her heel and left. Hey first stop was the clinic to buy some medicine and she could only hope Dr.Xu was in. She didn't want to deal with more people then she had too. Shaking her head she walked into the clinic and thankfully Dr.Xu was there. "Hey Bella, what can I do for you?" "I'm just here to stock up on some antidotes and medicine. I'm going to be gathering supplies and would rather be prepared." Dr.Xu fixed his glasses before he nodded. "At least you prepare. Unlike someone." Glancing over she could see Saya sitting on the bed with an iv drip connected to her arm. "What happened?" "She got attacked by jump dancers. There venom knocked her out and Oak found her and brought her in."
Bella blinked before she shook her head. "Where was this?" "Near WOW industries, I had just gotten off the lift before the venom became to much for me." "And she didn't have a single antidote." Saya looked away scowling slightly. "I wasn't expecting to get attacked. I was just fishing, and up there I can find more kinds." Bella rolled her eyes. On her way back she would go and clear out the jump dancers. Last thing she needed was the kids getting hurt while she was gone. "I'll clear it out when I finish what I'm doing." Saya felt her eyes widen at this. "Bella, I know you're able to fight but there were a lot of them."
Bella shrugged and Dr.Xu chuckled. "Bella can handle it Saya. Why do you think Arlo and the others take her with when they have to check out the more dangerous ruins?" Saya blinked she wasn't aware of that. "I....I don't know." "She's the best at what she does. If she says she's gonna clear them out she means it. Anyway Bella, I have all the medicine you asked for." "Right, how much?" He blinked before inwardly groaning. "106 gols. Since you won't let me refuse your pay." She weakly chuckled. "Not unless you have a commission I can refuse pay for." His eyes widened before he realized what he could do. "Alright, clear out all the jump dancers from that area and I'll consider it even."
Bella raised an eyebrow before she shrugged. "Works for me. I'll see you around." And with that she grabbed the bag of medicine and took off. She had to stop at her house for her swords and then she could leave. She felt bad she wouldn't be able to help Cedric but that monster had to be dealt with first. "Bella? Hey what's up?" Bella looked up as Cedric called her name and she frowned slightly as she grabbed her dual iron swords. "I have a job." He raised an eyebrow at this. 'What kind of job? I swapped to this because Arlo is upstairs.' 'When did he get here?' 'Around 2 am last night. He had taken a shift checking the desert and by the time he finished it was to late and he was to tired to get to the Civil Corps building. I only know cause I woke up when he dropped his bag on the floor.' Bella looked at him and nodded slowly. She remembered telling him to crash at her place when he needed it. In fact she told it to anyone who she was somewhat close to.
'Gale asked me to go take care of a creature thats in the Peripheries.' Cedric felt his eyes widen at this. 'Should I come with?' 'No. I got this don't worry. Besides if we both leave someone will question it.' Cedric frowned but nodded at her. 'Very well Bella, be safe. If Arlo or someone asks, I'll just tell them you're out gathering supplies and will be back in a few days.' Bella nodding and put her swords on her back before she put the medicine in her bag and strapped it to her side. "See ya." And with that she left. Walking over to her horse she slid on a pair of glasses to block out the sun and climbed up. "Let's go Shiro. The faster we finish this, the faster we can go home." And with that Shiro broke out into a run with Bella holding the reigns tightly. It was time to get rid of this threat once and for all.
