"Charlotte this is getting ridiculous! How many more miles, are you going to blindfold me for? I've been blindfolded for almost two hours now!"

"Stop whining like a child. It'll get easier, don't worry" Charlotte bluntly adviced

"Well I'd stop whining, when you get this blindfold off my eyes! It's itchy, and scratchy, and getting more painful and painful, by the minute" Raven continued to nag. Today was her birthday, why did she have to deal with this?

"Try to take your mind off it, dear. We're almost there. Come on, I can guarantee you that when I finally take those blindfold off, whatever it is you're going to see, is going to have been worth me putting those blindfolds on you for hours in the first place. I can assure you that." Charlotte promised, smiling, even though Raven couldn't see it

"This is the third time you're telling me we're almost there. Would you at least tell me exactly how many minutes... Or hours, it'll take us to get there? And the truth this time around? Or are we even still in Philadelphia, to begin with?"

"Yes... We are still in Philadelphia. That much I can offer you. Thirty minutes max, and we'll be there"

"Urgggh! I hate surprises"

"No, honey. You Love them" Charlotte retorted smugly

"What's up with this dress though? It has buttons, and some weird stuffs hidden inside." Raven moved on to another matter. Her birthday dress had come from the tailor Charlotte had constantly raved on about, and particularly referred her to.

"Well that's another surprise. Don't worry. You'll see" Charlotte smiled, purposely going vague as well.

Exactly as Charlotte promised, about thirty minutes later, the hired limousine they'd been in, came to a halt, and Charlotte helped a still blindfolded Raven, come down from the car slowly.

With extra support from Charlotte, Raven was able to climb up what she was sure, was a flight of stairs. But halfway through climbing, Raven quickly came to a halt, and turned back to face Charlotte, even though she couldn't really see her best friend due to the blindfold

"Charlotte, are you sure about this dress? It looks too revealing..."

"There's nothing too revealing about the dress. It's a fine dress, I assure you. And with my help, it's going to turn into an even more amazing dress. No don't ask me to explain what I mean. It's a surprise, like I said before. Now slowly turn around, so I can remove the blindfold"

Obediently, Raven turned around, and Charlotte quickly removed the blindfold from her eyes

Raven had to blink a few times, to adjust to the lighting. The evening had just begun. Charlotte had planned it to be an evening party.

In the morning and afternoon, she and Charlotte had had a private birthday celebration with themselves at home, and had gone to collect Raven's dress, before Charlotte had all out of the blue, sprung it on Raven, that there was going to be an actual birthday party celebration, in the evening, not in their house, but in somewhere far away, and that Raven had to be blindfolded the entire way, till they reached wherever they were going to.
