Sophia didn't understand. She never understood this statement. She remembered from the Easter service she went to, that his death payed for the sins of mankind. But they never went into more details. They expected everyone there to know already. Sophia thought it made no sense, but she never took the time to look into it herself. She didn't care enough before.
But now it was bothering her. The first thing she thought about this morning was Jesus. JESUS. Not The Viper, not what she was gonna do today, but JESUS. She couldn't believe it. Maybe this is how Christians get brainwashed. Sophia thought.

Sophia groaned and smashed her pillow into her face. She was about to reply but she realized the she forgot to check for an update on The Viper today! She quickly went onto twitter to see if he tweeted anything and as usual, nothing, and per usual. All of her mutuals were complaining about it on the timeline. Sophia didn't really care enough to look through them or respond to her online mutuals, which does make her a terrible friend, but they all have other people to chat with, so it's fine.
alexa.w:Hello? Are you there??
sophia31: yeah sorry.
alexa.w: It's okay! Did something happen?
Sophia didn't know if she wanted to tell her that she was tired of twitter. She felt like Alexa would see that as a victory.
sophia31: the Viper hasn't tweeted in awhile, I miss him
alexa.w: Ah, I understand. I miss him sometimes too.
sophia31: you're the one who stopped supporting him
alexa.w:Doesn't mean I never cared for him.
sophia31: if you cared for him truly, you would support him and just avoid the songs with bad things in them
alexa.w: I listen to some songs without bad meanings sometimes, but it's very rare these days.
sophia31: it doesn't seem like you were ever a fan
Sophia didn't understand why she said that to Alexa. She saw Alexa fangirling over the Viper constantly when she used to be on twitter. They used to fangirl together.
alexa.w: I definitely was. You know this, we would talk and cry over him together. I couldn't go a day without listening to him or watching clips of him. My wall was covered with his pictures, I had almost all of his albums. But I came back to God and I felt my connection with the Viper dissolve.
sophia31: okay. so when are you going to talk to me about why Jesus died
alexa.w: Yes! I forgot about that for a moment.
sophia31: so?

alexa.w: It all started with Adam and Eve, in the garden of Eden.
alexa.w: God instructed them that they could eat from every tree in the garden, except for 1. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He warned them to never eat from that tree.
sophia31: why would He put it there then?
alexa.w: He wanted us to have free will, if that tree was never in the garden, there wouldn't be any choice. He made it that way in our favour, think about it; one tree out of probably hundreds that you can't eat from.
alexa.w: They were tempted by satan and ate of the tree, causing sin to enter the world, it's in our DNA.
alexa.w: The payment for sins, is death. This is why in the old testament, Jews would sacrifice lambs, and other animals to God.
sophia31: oh
alexa.w: God came down in human form, was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. But died a sinners death, FOR US. He took the sins of mankind onto himself, paying for our sins, so now instead of looking to the Jewish law for forgiveness, we can look to Christ and believe in him, ask for forgiveness and we will be forgiven.
it amazes me that He came here to die for us, even for the people he knew would never accept him. He knew that people would curse him and He still died for them. He knew that He would be ignored by billions. that's what real love is <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
