PERSONALITY: mai is a very ... cheeky individual. she is very laid back, while also having a type of sarcastic and witty flair to her that pulled people to her when she was alive. she is incredibly flirty with almost everyone, and many of her friends would joke that she was secretly perverted. in actuality, she is incredibly headstrong with her beliefs, and she does not stand for discrimination of any kind. she's the type of person who, while not caring much about a lot of things, she would absolutely burn down a city in the face of injustice. BIRTH DATE: april 26th, 1955 DEATH DATE: april 30th, 1969 ZODIAC SIGN: taurus BACKSTORY: mai grew up in a small household with two parents who she never knew. she didn't consider them her parents, but they fed her and put a roof over her head. they commonly talked down to her, verbally abusing her until she couldn't stand coming home. she would spend hours at the school, practicing her music, which was the only thing she felt she was good at. it was her only passion, and she would spend almost all of her time on the roof of the school playing her emotions into the wind. her only friends were yugi amane and yugi tsukasa, and they didn't seem to care much about her. in the rumor of mei shijima, where she died of disease instead of suicide, mai actually did commit suicide four days after her birthday, the day that her guardians threatened to kill her.

YORISHIRO: her yorishiro is a folded up piece of paper, a note signed by amane and tsukasa before they died. the paper was mai's birthday present, and it was the only gift she recieved. BOUNDARY: her boundary is a large, misshapen auditorium, made of large shapes with random pockets of seating surrounding it. the colors are reminiscent of the night, filled with navy blues and silvers. in the center, there is a large stage, with a single chair and music stand. mai sits and plays for the people she lures into her boundary, who sit in the auditorium. underneath the chair, there is a door that leads to the deepest part of her boundary, which is a field under the night sky with a shrine in the middle with the yorishiro in it.
