There is one thing in the world,

That you do every day.

Before you wake,

Before you pray.

You don’t even think,

It just arrives

There’s no way to stop,

Unless you’re deprived.

But then came a day,

A girl only thought,

What if I didn’t?

What if I stopped?

It stayed in her mind, cutting through like a dagger,

She just wanted to end

This life they through at her.

That very next day her parents went out,

And so she stopped,

It’s like she forgot.

Her parents came home,

And saw her there,

Collapsed on the floor,

By a tipped over chair.

They call 911,

Their eyes blind with tears,

They thought she was gone,

They held so much fear.

The ambulance came along with two men,

They said it was over,

Explained it was the end.

It was soon found out the reason she died,

Through the tears on her cheeks,

Under her eyes open wide.

Her fingers were clutching it tied around tight.

A white and frayed rope,

That was part of a kite.

That previous day she went with him out,

Just father and daughter,

On an open route.

They flew that green kite,

Then they stared at the clouds.

At the end of the day they were empty of doubts.

So why did she do it?

What lingered inside?

Only dark thoughts,

They wouldn’t leave if they tried.

She wasn’t even thinking of the actions that followed,

She didn’t even guess,

As if she didn’t at all know.

Her life wasn’t all that ended that week,

Her mother couldn’t bear,

She didn’t want to see.

So just like her daughter, he found her there,

Collapsed on the floor,

By that tipped over chair.

Her fingers were touching it tied around tight.

A white and frayed rope,

It was part of a kite.
