System AI: 19.29 seconds.

"Damn it."

I was doing routine Pilot training, most normal aircraft pilots run simulations and other things to keep everything they know in check, but the type of Pilot I am is completely different.

In my field I do a lot of running, on the ground, walls you name it, I've ran it.

If I can't run fast, then I can kiss my life goodbye.

There's a program installed in my helmet that lets me run the 'Pilots Gauntlet'.

It's a collective mass of data gathered from each and every single Pilot that ever was, their speed, efficiency, lethality and above all else, their results.

Their scores are ranked in a long, long list, the average time to complete is 45 seconds, some of the best do it in 30, only the best finish in under 20, I want to be number one on that list one day.

But that title belongs to the greatest Pilot to ever live.

Jack Cooper.

His time was 12 seconds flat! Nobody has ever done the gauntlet so fast and most likely never will.

He also fought against impossible odds practically alone, one day however... He died, all he left behind was his Titan, that Titan was BT.

We were stationed together a few times and were pretty cool with each other, he was was like a brother to me.

Then it fell apart.

Our platoon was destroyed, I only survived by chance. Helping Cooper with maintaining BT let me gather knowledge on how to fix and repair Titans.

I was doing so at the time with an empty one, prepping it for a core change in the cockpit when some explosion knocked it forward.

After the fight outside ended, BT moved the chassis off of me when he found my armies signal. There were only a few of us left, Jack had injuries we couldn't mend.

With his dying breath he reassigned his Titan to my ID, his final words to me still stay with me.

Trust me.

I had no idea what to do, that's when BT told me we had to regroup with our commander for further orders.

He trusted me, trusted my ability to get everyone else back alive. I took BT to get our Commander. Everyone else was left to guard Jacks body.

It took 6 days, but we all made it out, and Jack had a proper send off. I was meant to hand over BT to the SRS not long after, but he refused.

He said Jack wanted me to be his Pilot, not anyone else. But they didn't allow it, when I argued I was dismissed like I wasn't there.

That's when I set off and made the future I have today, I fought in his name and did my best to make sure I earned the title he gave to me.
